That's the trick, right there. The problem with Heatley is that he so self-involved. If he isn't the center of attention, he wants to leave. I'm thinking of his end-of-season comments in his last year as a Sen when he basically said that the team may have had a bad year, but that he was happy about his own performance (and, you got the impression, that's what matters).
He'll never be a team-first player. For that reason alone, I'd pass.
I still don't that's the reason he wanted out of Ottawa haha.
I haven't heard a convincing conspiracy theory yet, though I've heard 3 or 4 separate ones, including variations of 2 in particular.
Care to share which one[s] you do believe?Big Ev wrote:spader wrote:Big Ev wrote:spader wrote:Big Ev wrote:I meant a Heatley who would want to be here lol. He wouldn't accept a trade to Ottawa.

The sex ones are idiotic, I don't believe those.

I don't even know any others. I just believe there is another reason than "dimineshed role". The fact that he never revealed the reason leads to believe that's not the truth.

As far as I can tell, "diminished role" can be read to mean "I'm not getting enough attention or credit, so I'm taking my toys and playing somewhere else." Sounds like him to me.
