Their prices are ridiculous. Can't bring myself to spend that much.

I've been in MTL for 8 months now and I can't believe how much better and cheaper is the food here. That's the only thing they have on OTtawa

Pretty much everything in Ottawa is overpriced. I do almost all of my shopping in Ogdensburg, NY and save a lot of money per month now.

I need to experience the Bar "B" Barn...

I had the opportunity to try out Casa Minhota. Delicious and reasonably priced. Tasted a lot like home cooking because my wife is Portuguese.

Another interesting experience was ordering a "pizzeria poutine," as I call it, in Mascouche. For the same price I would pay in Ottawa for a mozzarella topped poutine (which I don't mind that much) I got the same sized portion except there was about as many curds as there were fries.

Bottom line, I concur.

I wanna buy a "Premiere Moisson" Franchise and open one in Ottawa. There is clearly a lack of good Bread in the Nation's capital

Cheaper many things. And better nightlife, if you're into that sort of thing.

The Bar B Barn is nothing special. Good ribs, but many places have good ribs.

But if there is still a Tulipe Noire out there (I think the one on Jean Talon is still open) see if they still have the Tulipe Noire Dream Pie.

I went to a bachelor party this past Saturday that involved dinner at The Smoque Shack. It's downtown on York street, and it was fantastic. I had brisket with a side of cornbread and poutine. Delicious BBQ, and reasonably priced.

Damn how many BBQ places are opening up. That was my future business plan!

BBQ joints were one thing Ottawa was lacking, and I think there is still room. I dunno about the east end of the city, but Nepean/Kanata/Stittsville could still use more.

Who doesn't love BBQ? If Ottawa can sustain all those microbreweries I'm sure it can sustain a few more BBQs!

The Smoque Shack's BBQ sauce they used on the brisket was amazing. Think it had some coffee in it, among other things.
