Most teams will not make significant changes until the deadline.
Nowadys once you your roster set at training camp you can forget about making significant changes to it until the deadline (besides sending people up/down from the AHL).

So DOrion wants quality over quantity? Package everything you want and get 2 top 10 picks.
Diddle yeah! Don't lose the position we're in now though, whatever happens, make sure the Sens' pick is in the top 4.
Can you imagine something like LAndeskog/Huberdeau or RNH/Strome
1st pick: Ggoabriel Landeskog
2nd pick: Ryan Strome
3rd pick: Daniel Catenacci
4th pick: Shane Prince

I have a hard time with that - mostly because I don't understand it at all. Fisher should have been made available in December - I really don't think he was. I think Kovalev was, ditto Leclaire, ditto Kuba, but those aren't what teams want. The minute Fisher + Kelly + Ruutu to a much lesser extent + Campoli were put on the market, I think teams would absolutely be looking at acquiring these players. And all it takes is one team to pull a trade to make others start to realize that it's very possible to pull off.
I just think Murray didn't want to give up hope on Fisher and those guys - and that's admirable, but there comes a time...

Well no team tanks in December no matter where you are in the standings.
If Butler was a little faster, he would be really dangerous. I still think he can be a top 6 forward, but add speed to his skills and he would have top line potential.NEELY wrote:Condra and Butler are the real deals, so is Greening. He has limited offense but he is a well above average skater, a huge body, and plays hard.

Geez, am I missing something? From what I've seen Butler's quite speedy.
Let me clarify, he has poor acceleration, although he may be able to improve it a bit.asq2 wrote:SpezDispenser wrote:Oglethorpe wrote:

Yeah, he's a good skater.
Don't think he's a top-line guy, though. Not that that's a bad thing.

From what I've seen of Butler he seems to get to the right place at the right time a lot and if he had a touch more finish or slightly better passes or retrieval he'd have another 3 or 4 goals.
