Considering that's what people thought Phillips was worth (a 2nd), the fact they resigned him and moved Campoli for the same wanted return, gotta love what Murray did there.
He has set The Sens up very nicely for this draft... can't wait for June 24th and 25th...fuuuuuckthat's a long ways away.

It's a 2nd. No conditions attached to that pick. Only the 7th going to CHI.

He's a plug, haha, nothing more. Gives Ottawa and Bingo an extra body up front which was needed in the short term.
A 40 point guy is a plug? (Before you suggest that he hasn't scored 40 points, I projected using his NHL numbers from last year.)

Never said that, but he is indeed a plug. Someone had to get those points in Edmonton last year and it was him. He is basically a tweener between the AHL and NHL. He is absolutely a plug but a plug that Ottawa needs.

Typical Senator really. Can play all forward positions in the bottom 6. Might be a little better than Shannon, though.

(UPDATE 2:36 PM)- Conditional 2nd round pick is definitely a 2nd. Apparently it will be one of the Hawks three 2nd round picks. They also have Calgary's and Atlanta's.

Ooh I'll take Atlanta's please!

Chirp is saying that the conditions on the second are to determine which of Chicago's 3 2nd round picks we ultimately get.
Murray says he likely wasn't going to qualify RFA Campoli this summer because of young defensemen coming up.

I'm betting the condition is "we'll see where the 2nds fall and give you the worst one."

That's exactly it. According to NHL.com, the Hawks have until 48 hours before the start of the draft to choose which 2nd round pick they will give the Sens.
