Apparently Murray said that Michalek will be out with an extended period of time, and people are inferring that this means rest of the season.

It's a foot injury from Spezza slapping the puck off Michalek's foot.

The rest are all against teams who are directly ahead of us in the standings.

Time to start losing. For real.

Yeah, I'm starting to get scared.

This is why we should be happy we picked up McElhinney off waivers.

There are just too many games against the teams right ahead of us in the East. Time to give McIlleyhieney or whatever the Diddle his name is some starts.

Thanks. It certainly appears that Murray thinks it will be awhile.

****. Just when it looked like Michalek was coming around from his last injury, too.

I haven't seen CMac play but a week or so ago he was getting some publicity in a "worst NHL player" thread on HF.

He just takes a beating every game.

That's one thing that makes me worry about taking Landeskog, though he's a smarter player than Michalek and maybe that'll help him avoid injury.

When does young Ryan Potulny make his debut?

Tomorrow against Boston I think. Winch and Neil are expected back too.

I'm sooooo upset that I'm going to have to learn how to pronounce & spell that name now. LOL.

You mean there's no bounty for Neil? I thought we'd get a 2nd plus for him? Sarcasm

I heard Murray commenting that in the off season, either at the draft via trades or through Free agency, that he'd be picking up another top six forward.

It's also interesting to note that only one D-man was traded off of this D core. Can more be done in the off season? So far our D looks like this going into next season:

Gonchar, Kuba, Phillips, Karlsson, Carkner, Lee, with opportunities for Cowen and Rundblad to make the team.

I think Alexei Kovalev is a UFA at season's end. Sarcasm Facepalm

Indeed. Maybe he'll sign for cheap? Puking2

We'll see if he grabs a top 6 guy. If they get Landeskog in the draft, that's the guy that fits in right away.

Spezza, Butler, Michalek, Alfi, Foligno, Landeskog, maybe Regin in there too but his future is way up in the air.

Maybe through UFA they can go out and get another top 6 guy but I wouldn't give up anything of any value unless it was a legit top line winger coming back to play on the other side of Spezza.

I could definitely live with that. Condra could also likely sub into the top-6 and play more of a mid-6 role. Not a bad top-6 for a rebuilding team.
