I'm not sure I follow. The Sens always send players down; but normally they do it for precious cap sapce.

If you mean that they didn't need to send those 3 down because the salary cap isn't an issue right now, than yes; I agree with you. Re-assigning Lehner, Butler and O'Brien to Bingo was done for developmental reasons - instead of cap issues - this time.

Yeah exactly. They don't need to send Butler down this time at all, he is a part of the active roster with Alfie out (unless they call up someone else, which they won't IMO), so sending him down is to help the B-Sens hold onto that playoff spot.

I don't midn them sending them down to play some games instead of sitting around... though you always risk injuries.

I guess that's kind of a given... I meant that when you send players down to the AHL to get in some game action while the NHL team is off, you are increasing the odds of injuries/fatigue.

That's what I would think... could be wrong though.

I see what you mean now, but I don't think management worries too much about injuries that may happen. If they did, why trade for Leclaire?

Management deals with injuries when they occur. It may be short-sighted; but that is what they do. The only thing they do beforehand is acquire depth.
