He definitely believes Rundblad will be in the line up contributing next season and had nothing but good things to say about Jakob Silfverberg.

Dorion says Silfverberg translates into a second/third line forward and he expects him to be an Ottawa Senator at some point next season.

Also seemed very excited about the idea of having two first round picks. Expects that whoever they take first will be in the line up contributing next year too.

Dorion really likes the depth of this year's draft compared to last year and feels that they can be in a great position moving forward with two 1st and 2nd round picks.

Also worth noting that Dorion guarantees that, by the end of next year, Silfverberg will be an Ottawa Senator.

My apologies if someone already posted this, but TY has confirmed that Regin is done for the season. Here's hoping he can bounce back and start next season the way we all thought he'd start this season.

this may come as no surprise, but Dorion already has in mind who the Sens are drafting.

The guy we’re taking with our first pick: We hope, no, not hope, he will contribute next year. This year’s draft is much deeper than last year’s draft.”

We will be debating this until June 26, I still say Landeskog, but a lot of you guys are talking about Courtier. I like RNH's talent, but concerned about his size.

A coworker of mine said RNH gets most of his points on the power play, which is a minus in his books (not going to be as easy to score on a PP in the NHL).

No idea if this is true or not.

tried to find out more about that to see if that was true, all I could find out though is that 9 of his 20 goals were scored on the PP, can't find anywhere that keeps track of his pp assists. will keep digging though.

To me this says that their top 3 is Larsson, Landeskog and Couturier (not necessarily in that order). I remember reading somewhere that they had Larsson as the #1 guy on their list (will try and track down the source), but maybe this is Dorion and company pulling a fast one on the fans and going 'D' again? I wouldn't be surprised, but I still think I know which direction they will go come draft time.

I'm OK with Larsson if we trade one of our young d-men for a young forward.

I think what Dorion is saying is Melnyk wants someone to step onto the ice next season and get the fans energized and to me that ends the RNH talk doesn't it?

According to Travis Yost, Kovalev will be gone within 72 hours to likely the Penguins or Habs.

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Travis-Yost/Report-Alex-Kovalev-Moving-Within-24-72-Hours/134/33962

The return is apparently a low pick.

And we can all be happy in knowing that this failed experiment is FINALLY going to come to an end.

It's too bad Kovalev isn't more motivated. His skillset is excellent, and he's a big body that's hard to knock off the puck.

I love Bryan Murray. If this team goes anywhere in the next few years it's cause of him. Sure kovalev and conchae were band aid signings. But ebb they were first signed peOple love it. I was one. But Butler, his drafting and fleece the Blues to get Runblad. Murray should get a 5 year extension

Murray’s been pretty good, I can’t lie. When he’s made “bad” trades, they seemed decent at the time (with the exception of Heatley, but his hands were tied). The Stillman/Commodore experiment seemed reasonable at the time, Matt Cullen was a good pickup, etc. His signings haven’t been all that bad either. The Heatley and Spezza deals were considered decent at the time…. His big misses have been Kovalev (that was Melnyk, me thinks) and Gonchar. Even the Gonchar signing was considered decent at the time.

His drafting and college signings have been good.

Anyway, I don’t really want to rehash his history with the Sens, but I appreciate what he’s tried to do here. I still think he won’t be back next year, but it wouldn’t be a bad thing if he is.

The problem is how many decent, at the time trades, and signings that go wrong does a GM get before he's moved? The hindsight is 20/20 argument is part of life as a GM. We praise him for things that have gone well and say well at the time they were good so just because things went bad it doesn't really matter. I personally love what Murray has done this season under the circumstances and I love how he's drafted and what he's done with the college route but I'm not giving him a complete mulligan just because the trades looked good at the time and now are turning out to be horrible.

I think it's time to move on with a new GM but keep Murray on as a consultant.
