Fair enough. I just couldn't come up with a name. Was just trying to indicate "Veteran goaler"/Elliott. Thought I covered that with "something along those lines."

Take it with a grain of salt, I don't know who she is or what she would know, but I thought I would mention it here.

Why would a receptionist tell a fan that? Seems a little far fetched.

Also how would a receptionist know what the GM is doing? I don't get it?

I'm not sure why the person went to the receptionist at the Sens Office to buy tickets, unless they meant the box office, but those people are even less in tune with what is going on with the team than you or I are.

I doubt it's team related, but more building/ticket related.

That's probably it.

The e-mail was if FRIENDS/FAMILY bought tickets on their friend/family's season ticket holder acct -- the season ticket holder would get 25% of the value of the tickets to use for concessions at any place at SBP. Or something like that.

It's almost impossible, I agree. Although when Vermette was traded, there were people in SBP that knew about it because there was a recall on the programs they hand out because it had Vermette on it.

I remember someone saying that a trade was coming around this time two years ago + that it would be Vermette because they had had the brochures recalled, so I guess there are people who can snoop around in SBP and figure out the pulse of what's happening.

My 2 cents is that he doesn't see any NHL action next year and that this up and down actually ends up helping him. Otherwise, they wouldn't do it - Whamsley would tell them to stop doing it and sign a cheap backup. Sometimes you have to trust the professionals Roche!

If you only had one drum to beat, wouldn't you beat it to the best of your ability, & as loudly & longly as possible, too?

André Petersson vient d'être aperçu dans le vestiaire des Sénateurs.

To get his back worked on apparently.

Ah, et on me dit que Petersson est en ville pour soigner une blessure et pour consulter les médecins des Sénateurs.

He also says that he's told Petersson is here to consult the Sens's doctors.

This statement annoys the hell out of me. It's a complete contradiction of itself.

Crazy? No, but don't pretend you are doing this for the franchise fella.

Why is it a contradiction / hypocrisy / illogical when we apply it to Phillips, but not to Alfie?

When he says 'help with the rebuild,' he obviously means, 'help to groom, guide, & mentor the kids.' Which is the only way we can justify holding onto Alfie, too. There are different ways to help with the rebuild. The example of Alfie makes that clear.

Those questioning Phillips' motives/statement above, refer back to his comments before Volchenkov left town. He's as much a team guy as any player that has ever been in a Sens uni...Alfie included.

This statement annoys the hell out of me. It's a complete contradiction of itself.

Why is it a contraction / hypocrisy / illogical when we apply it to Phillips, but not to Alfie?

Alfie has a contract past this year. Phillips doesn't so really what he is saying is "I'd like to help the rebuild, if I am around." Phillips' situation seems more like Redden's situation in his last year than Alfie.

This whole thing worries me, and I mentioned it after the awful Kelly trade: I think Murray was forced to look at moving a guy like Kelly because he knows his UFA will either be worth very little, or won't waive. Either way he cannot complete his mandate of saving salary, and "re-tooling".

Phillips will take a pay cut to stay so technically, he is helping the rebuild by saving salary.

He told you this did he?

Isn't that what we thought about Redden too? Look how that worked out. However, let's entertain this idea shall we. Let's suppose that he signs for $2.5 million per. If he plays like he does this year how is that helping? We'd be no further ahead. The chances of him turning this around on a worse team seems unlikely to me.
