Waiting longer helps the acquiring team because then the prorated cap space they have will be greater. And Murray is waiting to hopefully increase the value in a bit of a bidding war.

Ruutu's type of player is more of a deadline day acquisition. A la Vaclav Varada when we got him, or Scott Walker of last year.

Yeah, it's all about patients with these guys. You need to wait until the last second IMO.

It is just risky because so many of the players we think/hope will be traded are very injury prone.

You would fly off the handle if Kovalev, Kuba, Gonchar and maybe Michalek got injured and their trade value dropped to nil prior to the deadline.

Injury potential aside, if you're too "patient" teams go in another direction and you're left holding the bag.

I'm not sure why the person went to the receptionist at the Sens Office to buy tickets, unless they meant the box office, but those people are even less in tune with what is going on with the team than you or I are.

I doubt it's team related, but more building/ticket related.

The guy that went there has Season tickets and went to the reception area where the offices were to pick up his tickets for tonight's game and talked to the receptionist there.

Again though, I doubt these people know much (unless she's in tight with a player...if you know what I mean Ottawa Senators TIDBITS & QUICK HITS! - Page 11 159628 ) I'm sure she hears rumblings though if she works there. Who knows...

It was nice (to win) because the fans here are really dumb,” Lehner told the Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin. “They scream at you, and one guy has a thing that really sounds a lot in your ears. It’s good for them. They’re helping their team out, of course, and it’s hard to play here.

Mostly agree with the bolded part except that I'd add that it's not all of them. Just the ones that boo Lehner.

It wasn't a home game. He was not talking about the Bingo fanbase.

Neither of those words start with B. You get an F.

The way the Sens are handling Lehner, I wouldn't be surprised if his career path follows that of Healy, Pang or Roloson. Average goalies that have, or will have, a career in the broadcasting booth.

My 2 cents is that he doesn't see any NHL action next year and that this up and down actually ends up helping him. Otherwise, they wouldn't do it - Whamsley would tell them to stop doing it and sign a cheap backup. Sometimes you have to trust the professionals Roche!

I think it will be closer to that of "The Net Detective". Although without the clever nickname.

If that happens, I would be so happy. That is how it needs to be done, you pretty much have to start over with him at this point.

But guess what? I am so confident that it won't happen like that; can I sign up for drinking some of my own urine if it does?

Why not though? We're surely going to replace Leclaire in net, I would say it's about 85% that we'll re-sign Elliott for one year to see if he can bounce back. Why would Lehner be needed - I guess unless there are injuries again, but even then, hopefully we sign Brust to a 2-way.

Let's go urine for urine. You versus me.

What do you say?

Probably best that you don't.

Given the outrage at the lack of goalies under contract this season, I expect that to be corrected next season. Might even be a Giguere/Elliott tandem or something along those lines.

Meaning a veteran goalie + Elliott. Nothing wrong with that.

Fair enough. I just couldn't come up with a name. Was just trying to indicate "Veteran goaler"/Elliott. Thought I covered that with "something along those lines."

Take it with a grain of salt, I don't know who she is or what she would know, but I thought I would mention it here.

Why would a receptionist tell a fan that? Seems a little far fetched.

Also how would a receptionist know what the GM is doing? I don't get it?
