On another note, Diddle YOU LECLAIRE!

On that note. Where the F*** is Leclaire? He was only supposed to be out for a few days and it's been like months? Why are the Sens being so secretive about Leclaire? Is he on the next Hell's Kitchen with Gordon Ramsay? Truly: What. The. Fnck.

Soft as melted butter. He isn't really even trying to rehab as much as he should be.

Just be glad it is almost over. He, and the decision by management to turn Lehner pro, are jointly responsible for the goalie problems everybody has Wing Dang Doodle about this season on multiple occasions.

I'm guessing Leclaire will be taking a paycut then? How long do we sign him for? 1 year @ 1.95 million?

That is not even funny. Some things you can't joke about SeawaySensFan.

I saw a stand up comic joke about the Tsunami just last night.

They were looking at him (I think it was both Murrays) before he was injured, but I hear they're one of 20 teams interested.

I would rather sign a tsunami to that contract instead of Leclaire. Like I said, there are some things you don't joke about and Leclaire on the Sens, beyond this season, is one of them.

If I may, Sebastian Erixon and Joakim Lindstrom.

It's easy to joke about stuff when it just isn't happening. By the way, I suggested that Leclaire should be sent home the same Montreal did to Laraque. I still don't get why that wasn't done.

I assumed Sebastian but I thought he had another year of draft eligibility for some strange reason. Couldn't believe he wasn't drafted in his "actual" draft year. I don't think the guy would ever make a big impact on the Sens, but for free it's worth a shot.

Never been high on Joakim Lindstrom, but I doubt Melnyk spends to the cap next year so maybe bringing him in on the cheap could be a good thing. I think I would rather see Butler/Wick or even Daugavins get a shot before we bring in another unproven asset though.

Because you cheer for a classy team IMO.

I agree. On the other hand, I always thought the Habs were the benchmark for class and knowledgeable fans?

Both Brust & Brodeur had the flu. Lehner played with an Elmira call-up as backup.

let's hope they don't bring the flu back..
Imagine if it was the other way around and Brust was playing with the Elmira call-up? We'd have two goalies dressing on our farm team that aren't in our system. This has gotta stop.

Lehner played yesterday so that explains this series of up/down...

I get that but if clouston is going to alternate and you got 2 healthy goalies in bingo land, why not just keep lehner up rather than shuffling him off to bingo for a start? My guess is that this isn't exactly a cap move and its pre-determined that elliott will start on tuesday

We don't on Brust's rights though, he's not on contract with us, only with the Binghamton Senators. That doesn't explain why Brodeur doesn't play down there, or come up as well. He must be injured or something, although he does back up Brust.

Brust is on a two-way between Bingo and Elmira. I don't think he was expected to play in Bingo this season. It was Brodeur & Lehner. But Brodeur got injured in the 1st game and was out for almost 3 mos. So Brust came up.. and has been lights out good.

Gee Leclaire got injured... leaving Elliott & Lehner as Brodeur was not healthy to play.

Sens would have to alter Brust's contract to get him up for a game. I don't know if they do that this season.. since Bingo is in a fight for a playoff spot and he is their best option in goal right now.

I don't think I'd call Brust up if he has to clear waivers, as Clutch mentioned, but they really need to get the guy under contract. I don't give a Diddle if he comes up, I just think we need some depth at what some consider to be a somewhat important position. (somewhat)

If he is an emergency call-up to replace an injury (a la Leclaire) then I don't think he has to clear waivers.

It's hard to follow these quotes and multi-quotes right now, but I will say that Brust would need to sign some form of NHL contract before he plays for Ottawa.

As it stands right now, Brust can not be called up - emergency or not.

We know that.. I think somewhere back in this post.. we mentioned his contract would have to be re-written as right now he is on a two-way between Bingo and Elmira.

Yeah but we are probably one of the few teams who could give him a chance to play right away. Considering the re-build. Just look no further than the opportunity we gave Winchester & Butler. Both did not spend too much time in the minors before they were playing with the Sens. Butler a little longer.. but I think he is a fixture the rest of the way. Hopefully that counts for something. Caporusso has a chance next season as well. We could have a lot of college guys on this team in the next couple of years.

My apologies. I thought you were suggesting you could call Brust up right now on an emergency basis.

I did refer to the conversation as being a hard one to follow because of the multi-quotes.

I have to suggest again that this is NOT a typical re-build. There's so much money available to the Sens that not spending any is out of the question - plus, why waste a year of Jason Spezza by not at least doing everything in your power to acquire an NHL proven sniper?

They might take a year to let rookies play, but I doubt it personally. They'll indoctrinate rookies in as there are injuries up front, but I highly doubt there'll be many roster spots open - especially after a summer full of wheeling and dealing (yes, I think it'll be a BUSY summer). Da Costa can blow us away in camp and earn a spot a little easier than if he was on the Flyers let's say (although, what a perfect replacement for Leino if he leaves), but I doubt it'll be that much easier here than anywhere else in the long run.

He's apparently progressing well...

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2011/02/14/sens_leclaire/

Clouston says "there has been some progression".

Sounds a bit iffy and vague if you ask me.
