Just checked the boxscore and he's up to about 4:27 of icetime. So he's playing now. IDK. I'm not watching. He's a -1. Maybe a goal was (largely) his fault and he was benched afterwards for the period?

Announcer indicated that it might have been because Karlsson didn't stick with his man and the Islanders scored. I don't buy it.

Why not? If he blew a play costing the team a goal, should he not see a reduction in ice time?

Sure but I think something else might have been up because Karlsson has done that before and he hasn't been overly penalised.
