If a couple of teams ahead of us have to take a D, then Landeskog (according to this) would be available at #6.

I don't see that holding true Prags, unfortunately.

TSN has a comparison of where the players were ranked vs. their actual draft position.

For 2010:
http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=39853

Generally it seems defencemen fell while forwards moved up so Larsson may slide if this trend continues.

Although it may mean that most teams draft based on need not BPA.

Depends,

Landeskog doesn't have the offensive upside of Huberdeau, Couturier or Strome. If teams want D then hamilton and Larsson are their picks..I can see Larsson definately doing that, and New Jersey is in desperate need of restocking their D.

As for Landeskog falling, I agree it's doubtful, but if teams want scoring then he can fall. Then again, I think ottawa can use more of what Couturier and Strome bring to the table than Landeskog.

Ottawa needs Landeskog the most. This team lacks an identity and it definitely lacks toughness, passion, and leadership.

There's no way Lando falls. It might be good to look back at history but I don't remember when a Top 3 ranked pick falls out of the Top 5

EDIT: in fact looking at that TSN link, only Kessel who was ranked 3 fell as far as number 5 in 2006. Trade up is really the only option to get Lando....or stay put and get another bonafide player who will be just as hyped a year later.

It would only surprise me a little if he fell. Huberdeau, Larsson, RNH, Hamilton, Couturier could easily be taken before Lando, heck you can even change Hamilton for Murphy or Strome. Lando's got character and that's what we need, but as mentioned he's far from the most offensively skilled of the top 6.

Chirp has been saying BM is trying to make a play for number2. Craziness!

On the whole land debate. I know he's been compared to mike Richards but in all honesty he could fall very short of that... He could wind up being a mike Fisher 2.0 . Are we willing to bank it all? I mean I trust BM and his staff more then anyone but maybe we should go with a player with a higher sealing if we can.

Even Mike Richards wasn'ty expected to be Mike Richards. Landeskog is a better version of Mike Richards.

Zibanejad had 3 goals and 3 assists today against Norway.

I'm excited to check him out on Tuesday when Canada and Sweden play. The game is on TSN.

It will be interesting to see where he is drafted.

I'm not sure if will climb any more than 1 or 2 spots but it wouldn't surprise. Hell it wouldn't surprise me if Ottawa took him. Who's our Swedish scout now?

Well, the best bargining chip Ottawa has at this point is Rundblad. I am sure Colordao scouts have had a very good look at him as Larsson is on the same team. If you could swing Rundblad and a 2nd for that number 2 pick, you should do it pretty close to 100% of the time.

I have no idea if that's the case but it's just something new to talk about.

I don't know if I (or the Sens) would do that to be honest. Rundblad is their current prize pony.
