Internet rates *are* going up. My Express will go from 12Mbps to 18.

I believe cable is going up as they added the ability to set your PVR using your smartphone, Bell has had this for a while I think. There's something else, probably adding more channels I will never watch.

Internet is going up as they upped the speeds and the caps on the higher end packages. Still ridiculous but Bell's are lower (and they lowered them again recently I think).

I pretty much stopped reading as soon as I saw the rates going up part, all they do is find ways to raise the price every year.

The Remote TV application (I use it on laptop but not a mobile device) is not something they could charge money to use. It's cool but way too unreliable.

Lost....man. How did I not watch that when it came out. Man. I feel empty now. The characters. The music. Man. I don't care if they didn't answer every single question - it was an unreal and moving show. Never been so emotional over a TV show. Crying

you know a show is amazing if you watch all 6 seasons in less than a month. Rockon

Well, you may have missed out on some unreal discussions in message boards, but you never had to wait 6-8 months between seasons like we had to endure a few times.

I've re-watched it twice now with my sons. In 4-5 years the girls will be old enough to watch it. Looking forward to that.

All born before Lost aired.

It's funny, I remember coming to Canada when I was 13 going on 14 and I remember lots of shows we watched as a family and a few that my sister and I watched together and my parents would watch with us periodically. The $6M Man/Bionic Woman, Happy Days, The Carol Burnett Show, The Bob Newhart Show (and Newhart later), etc. Today, there are a bunch of Disney crap they watch and my wife an I watch a lot of shows that we don't want them to watch. There are almost no full-family shows around.

With Lost I first started re-watching when my oldest was 14 and my next one (12 at the time) only lasted two episodes (too intense). I loved BSG but I don't think the boys (15/13) are old enough yet. And these are all network shows, primarily, we don't even watch the really raunchy stuff on HBO.

TV is a sad, sad wasteland.

As you say, family fare is a rare commodity. I can't even really watch most PG movies with my 9-year old daughter without a blush-inducing moment or more.

Really, PG? I guess it depends on what the G is for. My wife watched that Selina Gomez movie with the girls (9-year-olds) that was PG and she was a bit afraid, but it turned out quite good. Transformers, on the other hand, had some vulgar stuff in it.

But nothing compares with Eddie Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop coming out rated G in Quebec. Complete with a strip-bar scene and lots of Eddie's favorite words.

The French language censors must have heard the English version and felt there was no offensive language. As for the ta-tas, well maybe that's just a cultural thing. But that still doesn't explain the execution-style shooting of a guy in the back of the head plus lots of other fairly gratuitous violence. Hey, as long as the music is loud and you can dance to it, let the kddies watch.

I gave my cousin the 6 seasons after I got the complete collection.
He stayed in the basement and watched it for a whole week straight non stop.
