Stephane is very talented, but he will have to work hard to make the NHL. That's just DaCosta being a prospect.

Da Costa has all the NHL tools but like many have said he is very raw. He reminds me of Andy McDonald and will probably hit his stride as a professional around his mid 20's just like him as well.

The Sens need to develop him and that's exactly what they are doing.

I just wanted to make a pun.

A pun is its own re-word.

Once this season is over (or cancelled) Daugavins, Condra, Gonchar, Alfi and some others will be on the way out and spots will open up.

Why Condra?

I think he's 50/50. I dont know how they view him in the organization, whether he is a key 4th liner going forward or not. I like him a lot but still unsure. maybe the want someone with more potential offensive upside.

I personally think he'll be around for a couple of years minimum, but there are options for sure, he should make sure to continue to work very hard. Derek Grant looks fantastic. Prototypical 4th liner who can kill penalties, hit and score once in a while.

Yeah I like him too. Leads the AHL is short-handed goals with 3.. and the B-Sens lead the league with short-handed goals at 8... Too bad that wouldn't translate into the O-Sens>..

That's it right there. Grant might be a guy that can do Condra's job but a little better in all aspects.

How do you know it wont? He's big, aggressive on the puck and makes guys cough up the puck a lot. The best part of his game is that when he gets an opportunity, he buries it. I think that might translate very well to the Sens.

Da Costa is on another level than everyone else. Silfverberg too, just behind him, but that'll come with experience.

Da Costa's completely outclassing everyone else though. I love Hoffman, but there's no competition between the two, ditto Petersson. Petersson has been blown completely out of the water by Silfverberg and Da Costa now.

Better start seriously considering Da Costa as a possible piece of the Sens as early as next year.

Like a few of us have said, the NHL raw talent is there. His habits away from the puck and away from the ice need to keep improving. If he does what's asked, he will be an NHLer no question.

Anyone who ever questioned whether the talent is there or not is insane. It's been 100% evident since the first game he played as a Senator. I question anyone who thought otherwise. Work ethic and drive is another story but he seems to be turning that around.

Still think he ends up a winger.

Where did the questions about his work ethic come from?

Have doctors reattached his bobble-head after that Phaneuf hit?

Missed summer camp I believe and came in "fat". People ripped on Kadri for the same thing.

His ability to get better without the puck will be important too. Sometimes the game is a lot harder when you don't have the puck because some players just don't know what to do.

Huh, I find that surprising after he busted his arse at Merrimack. I would imagine he's learned his lesson if that's the case though.

Got a nice little signing bonus and NHL money... he's 22. That's more natural than turning it up a notch.

Fair enough.
