High 30s would be great from Regin on the third line.

40 sounds plausible if he's healthy, but then again if Latendresse falters, or if there are injuries (and if we play this year, there will be), or if a young gun can't handle top 6 etc. etc. etc., then Regin's a candidate to play the wing and add both defensive conscience and a little offense to say the Turris line or even the Spezza line.

it's an interesting thought for sure. I tend to forget that we now have turris to center the second line which IMO will create much more secondary scoring. That could obviously be a factor for Regin.
Watching that line play is probably one of the things I look thowards the most in an incoming season.

For sure. And as fans who have grown with the game for the last 5+ years on here, we all know how important it is to have depth at the NHL level and beyond. There really isn't lines set in stone anymore, a team is a team. The only guys who are TOP LINE players are Spezza and perhaps Michalek/Alfredsson. So now, if there's an injury to someone like Alfredsson, you can plug in one of Regin, Smith, Greening or Condra and in turn replace them with Silfverberg, Zibanejad or Hoffman (for example). If Latendresses goes down, you have similar options. If Spezza goes down, you're in trouble, but at least you can move Turris up there and Smith up to where Turris is and replace Smith with Zibanejad - and so on.

A player like Regin gives you great options on a 3rd line. He can move up or down if need be, he can add offense to a top line, he can add a defensive conscience to a top 6 role, or he can just be a great 3rd line LW or C.

Regin can possibly fill in as a 2C if he's not 3C in case of injuries.

Versatile, hardworking and cheap. Not too shabby.

Except he is the "case of injuries".

Not hockey-related, but apparently Ottawa will get the Binghamton double-A ball club.

Add to that the fact that he's proven that he can produce at this level. My guess is that he'll come out fairly strong when they get going.

Miracle Mets. I think it's a matter of getting a team ASAP and worrying about affiliation later.
