Maybe I should have put it the way of requesting a buyout. IF there is an amnesty that teams can buyout without no cap hit.. then would Gonchar request they do that?
IF (big if) the NHL is back by Dec 1st.. Sens will be without Cowen... and new D of Methot and Lundin. IF Gonchar decides he does want a buyout and Murray complies... then that leaves Karlsson, Phillips from the team of last season.. and two new guys.. then who else? Boro & Benoit or Weircoch -- or UFA bought out by another team?
Depends on how invasive the surgery is and the recovery. We don't even know what the details of the injury really is... either way, bad news.sandysensfan wrote:Big Ev wrote:Well I guess I spoke too soon lol:
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
OTT says Jared Cowen to have surgery for lower body inj. Good news: hear it's not ACL (previous injury). Bad news: hear it's season ending.
How the hell would such a seemingly minor thing be season ending? People said he has been walking around fine.
I was at the game the injury happened. Skated from the bench to the dressing room on his own. Was standing next to Bishop watching the rest of the game in sweats... Mystery to me

The answer is no, there will be no buyout for Gonchar. I'd wager any amount of $$ on it. We put up with him stinking to high heaven, now he can come back in and play his final season for us.*
*There won't be a season.

There will be a season. Guaranteed.

Karlsson, Philips, Gonchar and Methot. WHo are the bottom 2 I don't even know
Big Ev wrote:Borowiecki I guess because he can fill in Cowen's role a bit, but I haven't really liked how he's played all that much. He takes too many penalties.

Have we tried Hoffman on a line with Zibanejad btw?
Hoffman, Zibanejad, Stone
2 playmakers
It means that when he has the puck, he's very poised and shows a high degree of poise.wprager wrote:"poise with the puck" -- you've mentioned it twice now, what do you mean, exactly?
