I was wondering what was going on.

Rogers shouldn't be hijacking DNS requests as well but that's another story.

Who is The Hockey Fanatic? They don't seem to realize that Norfolk is a completely different team (literally) this year.

anyways, most AHL teams are pretty similar this year. Binghamton should be a good team if the lockout lasts a while. They will remain competitive even after that due to their goaltending and forwards.

Bingo officially signs Bishop:

http://www.binghamtonsenators.com/news/?article_id=1423

10/15/2012 10:15 AM

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators announced today that the club has signed goaltender Ben Bishop to an American Hockey League contract.

Bishop, 25, appeared in three games for the B-Sens last season after he was acquired by their National Hockey League affiliate Ottawa Senators from the St. Louis Blues on Feb. 26. In those three games Bishop posted a 2-1-0 record with a 2.35 goals-against average.

Prior to the trade, he had spent the 2011-12 season with the Peoria Rivermen, the Blues' AHL affiliate, where he posted a record of 24-14-0 in 38 games, including a league-leading six shutouts.

The 6-7, 215-pound native of Denver was named 2012 AHL All-Star Classic most valuable player after stopping 10 of 11 shots in the third period to help lead the Western Conference to an 8-7 shootout victory. He was also named Reebok top goaltender during the All-Star Classic's skills competition.

Bishop has appeared in 162 career AHL games with Binghamton and Peoria, posting an 83-65-8 record with nine shutouts, a 2.59 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.

The B-Sens travel to Rochester to face the Amerks tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. Fans can listen live on “Binghamton’s Classic Hits” BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM) beginning 15 minutes before game time as Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens, hosts the Countdown to Faceoff.

I think I'll do a season preview myself in the next couple of days. They have a really nice team down in Bingo - a lot of intriguing pieces.

Starting to see why Claesson gets so much hype. First, the massive hit, then the takedown.

A lot of people seem to think he was a 'steal', similar to Sdao or Wikistrand seem to be getting hype.

I somewhat agree, although I don't think getting a Mike Lundin type d-man is that much of a steal. Claesson may see some NHL time one day, but really just a fringe bottom pairing defensive d-man.

Anyway, anyone catching tonight's game? I predict a goal from Zibanejad.

How about we let them play some NHL games before we say they will make it or not.

I remember some saying Lundin played pretty well in Tampa's run to the conference finals a couple of seasons ago.

I just hope going to Bingo this weekend and IF the CBA is settled that Cowen & Silfverberg are still there.. I would assume training camps would begin next week... IF this is a done deal...

There's a guy on ustream that goes by bsenshockey: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/bsenshockeylive

He wasn't streaming the season opener, though. Maybe he was at the game.

Some guys never get any NHL games to show if they can make it.

If they reach a deal by November 2, Cowen, Silfverberg, Zibanejad, Bishop and Hoffman will probably be taken out.
