WHAT A GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOAL Bobby Butler (Mike Hoffman, Patrick Wiercioch)

Jeffrey and Tangradi look awesome out there...only guy on Ottawa that stands out is Butler.

Ugh, this is painful to watch.

1st period:

Everyone sucked.

Someone needs to step up as a leader.

Butler is gonna be good, you can tell even from a game like this. He's got the goal-scorers confidence, the puck follows him. Hoffman looked good at time, shaky at others, why was Daugavins out there at the end? He was less than stellar.

Watching the highlights now (well, lowlights if you're a Sens fan) and Gryba didn't look very awesome on the 2nd and 3rd goals.

Yeah, those were a product of a whole bunch of clustercusses though. From the forwards on out.

A lot of guys have a lot to prove IMO. That first game wasn't great for anyone not named Butler and Gryba - and even Gryba had some off moments. Some guys have a chance of a lifetime here, it had better come to the surface today.

I assume we'll see Hoffman and Butler together from puck drop this aft.

I'm excited for game #2. Won't touch up on the guys SpezD mentioned, since I agree with him. But these other guys:

Culek had a couple of nice plays, but is still pretty damn far from NHL ready. But that's alright with me.

Schira really rubbed me the wrong way that game. How can a Puck Moving Dman who is still pretty small, be so slow. He's afraid to hit. He also made some poor decisions. He had a good first shift, and then went downhill from there.

Condra is another one. He made some stupid mistakes, one that lead to a goal. This guy is supposed to be defensive minded too! He did seem to be in the right places in the offensive zone, but just could not capitalize on anything.

Szydlowski seemed to be all over the place. Constantly with the puck on his stick. Although I could not tell if he was playing well, or he's just a keener who doesn't pass... Game 2 will be important for him.

I thought Kaspars Daugavins was pretty solid. He's not going to be a 1st liner in the NHL, but could be a solid 2b liner. Has a decent shot, very shifty little player. And does go into the dirty zones. I was impressed with his call-up last year, and with his game yesterday. Not bad for a kid who did not impress in his first year in bingo, thus was sent back to junior 20 games in. Hope he brings more this game though.

Also, although Wiercioch did not have a good game, he looks really comfortable handling the puck, and is a really nice skater.

Doesn't look like there's a stream for today's game either ... ah well.
