If I told you in September that Stamkos wouldn't even be in the top 10 in rookie scoring would you have believed me?

This one should be easy to answer but I thought it was interesting to note none the less. I certainly wouldn't have believed this would happen. Guys like Brandon Crombeen and Alex Goligoski are ahead of the first overall draft pick for rookie points leaders? For rookie goals leaders he sits 17th behind the likes of guys like Kevin Porter, James Neal and our friend Brandon Crombeen? It's amazing how much damage a coach can inflict on a young star in such a short period of time. Can he bounce back and challenge for rookie of the year still? He can but he's got a huge hill to climb being at half the production of the leaders.

I actually voted yes, but that's because I'm a huge believer in Murphy's Law. From experience, if something feels either too good to be true or is HAILED as a sure-thing, knowing my luck, it rarely is.

It's much like the Detroit Red Wings. Everyone has them as a lock to hoist the cup again, but from the beginning, I've been saying that I think they COULD succumb to a monumental collapse (one that Sens fans are ALL too familiar with). It's just a chance, but again, a dose of Murphy's law could apply.

As for TB, they are just terrible. They are saturated with talent, but it's like they have Paddock running the show there...

Could you answer the same way if I added Doughty and Turris to the list of names not in the top 10?

I voted no, but I am not surprised. That whole organization is a trainwreck. The ownership group makes the Gliebermans look like the Ilitchs by comparison.

A questionable hire as a coach in Melrose, way too much player turnover, and limited minutes have all hindered Stamkos.

He has picked it up lately under Tocchet, who has increased his ice time and has him playing in more situations.

It's not just Stamkos though. Mez only has 6 points (and singlehandedly killing me in my pool), and both Vinny and St Louis are underperforming by their own standards. Ryan Malone isn't producing enough to warrant that joke of a contract.

The first order of business to set this team right is to get rid of the sideshow at the ownership level.

Well said Hemi.

There's WAY too many things that need to be fixed at the Ownership and coaching level before anyone sees anything change on the ice IMHO.

I would never have believed it.

No way I would have believed it. I thought he could be first in points pretty much by accident.

yes, absolutely. I never was a believer in this guy and still am not. Maybe one day he'll be what the media tried to build him up to being but the fact is that superstars dont come along every single year. Ovechkin and Crosby were generational superstars. That type of player isn't going to be in every draft whether TSN wants to build up the hype about the number 1 pick or not.

Im sure he'll be a good player but to think he would tear up the league off the bat like an AO is too much to ask. Im a little surprised he hasnt been able to pick up a bunch of assists off of Lecavlier or St.Louis goals but not so surprised where I would think he would be a lock for a rookie scoring race.

Not a lot of 18 year olds come into the NHL and dominate, let alone with that little tallent surrounding him.

I said it then, and i still feel that way. Stammy is going to become an Yzerman kinda player. He'll never put up huge points and still be succesful, but he'll be a great two-way player and a leader. Turris however I would have called you crazy.

It's not too often a Crosby or a Gretzky come along. It takes time for a superstar to be born. Give Stamkos a break, he'll break a few records in his career
