I also like the idea of Paul Kariya, although it sounds like he's staying West.

Sens on July 1st, Free Agents, Trades - Interesting storylines to watch. - Page 6 270956 I remember last year when I was waiting all day for Heatley to accept the trade to Edmonton.....and that Neil had re-signed for 4 more years when I was prepared to part ways with him.

......Imagine if Volchenkov comes back.....would ppl now be opposed to such a notion? Say he accepts that long term $4M cap hit contract?

Wouldn't surprise me to see the almost the exact same pre-deadline lineup from last year including Volchenkov.

cullen...or kariya? After Kovalchuk and Frolov, the age climbs upwards for all free agent forwards.

Cullen all the way. In fact, no Kariya. I have a good feeling about Bobby Butler.

Kovalchuk, Frolov, we can't afford, nor should we be in on them.

People should really not forget about Butler, I dont think there is anyway he doesnt make The Sens out of camp. That's Ottawa's 2nd round pick for this year, in fact better.

That's a pretty easy assumption since Donovan is gone. Like I said, I think I'd be more shocked if we didn't have pretty much the exact same lineup as we did at the end of February than I would if any acquisitions or signings took place.

Some pretty nutty stuff posted on senschirp. I'll let you read and decide for yourselves.

Butler sounds like he might be real, real good. I'm going to the DC on the weekend, but a couple of people I trust have said that you can pencil him in on the right side of Spezza. That's how good he's looked apparently.

They've also said that Cowen is ready, which I realize brings up a debate (which was on the other thread).

Ahead of Alfredsson and Kovalev? Interesting.

Alfredsson and Fisher need to play together - I wish with Cullen, but you bring up a good point about Kovalev. Not sure where he would go, point is, this guy sounds like he might be able to snipe with Spezza (no pressure l Laugh1 )

Foligno/Regin/Kovalev, not that tough to figure out.

As a 3rd line? I've thought of that obviously, hard to imagine Kovalev or Regin on a 3rd line, but it's possible.

3rd line? Why do people get so stuck on giving them that title? Even strength the 3rd line plays basically the same amount of time as the 2nd line.

As long as you insist on having Fisher on the 2nd line, anything is possible. Except improving your 2nd line.

Alfredsson HAS to play with Fisher eh? Interesting.

With Cullen hopefully, yeah. Fisher had his most success in the playoffs when they put Alfie and Cullen with him and moved him to wing. I would like to see that this year - I could care less if it makes Fisher happy or not.

I say 3rd line because one of the lines will take a massive him in ice time. So if Regin's line plays as much as Fisher's line, how much icetime does Chris Kelly, Chris Neil and Sharkko Ruutu get? 7 minutes? 5 million dollars for 7 minutes a night. confused
