Yup. I will step up. Murray made a huge splash, seemingly out of character. Seriously addressed a big part of our teams weakness.

The guy had 50 pts in 62 games last year. He's going to be a Cussing revelation on our blue line.

The NTC for Gonchar doesn't worry me as much as some other players. Gonchar isn't the kind of player they would be looking to move. I fully believe this is a move for Gonchar to mentor Karlsson and then in 3 years he'll move on and leave us with a group of PP players in Ottawa that are second to none in the league.

Think of how far Letang has come in Pittsburgh. If Weircioch plays this year or next he too will benefit from Gonchar.

Kubas days in Ottawa are numbered.

Is Kuba moveable?

Kuba would be easy to deal for a 2nd rounder. His NTC should be gone now as well. Maybe Tampa would take him back for Philly's 2nd. We would need to sign Michalek first.

Once Hamhuis signs yes...there are still 4 or 5 teams trying to get PMD and once Hamhuis signs there will be teams scrambling..

Suddenly Ottawa has a run on PMD.

Agreed. That is exactly what our D will look like on our first PP. Karlsson couldn't have even asked for a better mentor beside him on the PP.

Why do people want to trade this guy so badly? Kuba's invaluable to the Sens now because he plays that 2/3 spot so well. He's absolutely the perfect guy for that slot. I just don't understand this obsession with giving the guy away.

I have always, currently, and will always, think he is terrible. Can't stand him. Get me Michalek and send Kuba far away. Couldn't even stand watching him on another team.

Lets just hope Gonchar doesn't become another Kovalev type failure.

This means we spend a lot more time in the offensive zone. Gonchar is a one pass and you are out defensemen. We haven't had a puck mover like this in 4-5 years. Plus our PP with gonchar and karlsson just took a giant leap forward.
