Has Volchenkov hit anyone yet ? or is he dreaming of July 1st and signing with the Caps ?

He's dreaming of his 5 million dollar payday going down the crapper because he's been terrible this post-season?

It's tough for a D-Man to hit anyone when they are backing in all the time. Agression is the key. So far they've managed to waste energy hitting for the sake of hitting while playing a passive game...

The nice part about being a pessimist is that you are constantly being either proven right or pleasantly surprised.

The Pens are taking away our shooting lanes, our passing lanes, everything. Why? Because of the thing you're always talking about. We need to get into the zone and drive right at Fleury, ending up right at the edge of the blue paint, then we need desperately to stay there and make his life hell. That'll take at least 1 D-man with the player driving and cause some confusion and break down their comfy little triangle of defense.

If we don't bother doing that tonight, then Clouston has a summer to go over the tapes and learn it hopefully.

We've also got to stop giving them a free run to Elliott..

See stuff like this has me thinking that Bylsma studied our game tapes so well and has the Pens set up to contain us in their zone and Clouston is either unable or unwilling to go to "Plan B" and throw a monkeywrench in their game plan.

They really tightened up after Game 1.

We have to stop respecting Crosby so much. It's just ludicrous what we are letting him do. It has to stop. It's too late now, but it still has to stop. Did you see how he reacted when Sutton knocked him down the other day when he was doing his dipsy-doodling behind the net. Finally one of our guys takes him down, doesn't get called for a penalty, then Crosby gets up and slashes Cullen or whoever it was out of frustration and gets called for a penalty. That's what should have been happening from day 1. Crosby is human, he gets frustrated pretty easily, and you can take him off his game.

According to Elliotte Friedman... Fedotenko says he's in for tonight's game.

Alfie didn't practice last game either so I wouldn't read much into it. He's clearly not 100%. Still hoping for the Sens to go for the cup, but at the same time a longer run will be very hard on ol' Aflie. If and when this series is over, either way, we might finally hear the extent of his injury.
