If a loud sellout crowd at home didn't light a fire under their Donkey I'm not sure what can.

There were other huge mistakes made by people we all know already, but had we had that extra save when we needed it I think we could've come back. Fleury is no better than our guys. Am I the only one that got that sense at least twice in last night's game? I'm sure I am not.

We definitely had opportunities to come back in that game for sure but thinking Mike Brodeur will make a difference is a bit of a stretch IMO.

Fair enough. I just can't shake the thought of him coming in when we were in a tailspin and righting our ship for us. He was fantastic and he really didn't have any pressure on him. I figured that 'maybe' it could happen again and we could go on a run. When he came in we were really down on ourselves and quickly falling out of the playoffs. One can dream...and hope...

It's good to see I wasn't alone in wondering what Mike Brodeur could do for us....

At this point I don't think it matters too much which goalie we start, all of them are capable of the same level of play.

Elliott does deserve the opportunity, but he better realize he needs to make the saves he missed on goals 3 and 4.

I think I'm alone in thinking Leclaire was pretty solid last night, he just came in at a bad time, and the team (like with Elliott) gave up in front of him at times.

I wonder if we can call up Lehner and try for a 'Ken Dryden-esqe' run PLAYOFF GAME DAY: Game 5: Ottawa Senators (1) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (3) - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Apr. 22nd, 2010 - Page 6 159628

Keep the faith...

Lots of angry people today, myself included...

I'd love to believe in that, but I won't this time. Last night broke my spirit with this team. If they win tomorrow (ha), then I'll resume my faith, but it's pretty hard right now.

Am I wrong to say that?

Not at all, I don't blame you one bit for feeling that way. It's better to feel like that then to set yourself up for more heartache and disappointment. I always seem to keep some faith, no matter how angry I am at the situation. I always tend to have a glimmer of hope, and I will keep it for tomorrow, as much as I don't think they'll put in any kind of effort.

Do people still think we have a shot at winning this series? How many teams have come back when down 3-1? I'm sure that stat is all over the place right now with the current situation I'm just too lazy to look for it. The absolute best case scenario is we bring it to seven games. I doubt we win another one but, if you want to keep the faith then there's your best case scenario right there. We lose in 5, 6 or 7.

He does deserve the opportunity for sure (Elliott), I just thought that maybe there could be some kind of saviour to come in and help out. Brodeur proved to be that earlier on this season. I think Elliott wants to win no matter who's in nets and I don't think he would feel slighted at all. Just have a good chat with him first, it's about the team not about Elliott. Am I wrong in saying that?

I thought Leclaire looked fantastic when he came in, he made about 4 awesome saves. But, we know what happened afterwards. We can't really blame him since he was very cold when he came in and I was surprised by the huge saves he made.

Nope. I'll be going into this one expecting a collapse of epic proportions and be pleasantly surprised with anything better than that personally.

Just think of the silver-lining. Experience for Karlsson and Regin, and it puts Ottawa in position to draft a sleeper like Michael Granlund, Jeffrey Skinner or with any luck Brett Connolly

I think there are only 6-8% of teams that have done it. The chances are pretty much non-existant.

It would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo epic if Lehner stepped in and pulled a Cam Ward. PLAYOFF GAME DAY: Game 5: Ottawa Senators (1) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (3) - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Apr. 22nd, 2010 - Page 6 270956

It would be awesome for sure. Could you imagine? There's really no pressure at this point.

We should round up our 3 top candidates for the goalie coaching position and give them a period each.

Goalie with the best SV% gets the job Laugh1

How many have come back 3-1 against the cup champs? Usually the teams that come back are the ones that are favoured to begin with.

There is no chance Ottawa wins this series. I'm not telling people something they dont already know.

I fully expect a repeat performance out of everyone just as we've seen in games 1 through 4. The only difference in game 1 is we won and the Pens played poorly.

Most recent ones I can think of were the Wild who did it two times in a row and were not favoured. Not against the Cup champs for sure though.

I dont expect much out of The Sens tomorrow. Alfi is injured (worse then we know for sure), The diffence is too slow to handle The Pens, they are undisaplined, and our best two players have been a rookie and a guy thats been in Ottawa for 3 months.

It's more then likely over tomorrow night.

I'm a Red Sox fan, so I know that you should never count a team out when they are down in a series...that being said, Pittsburgh is too much right now

I'll be curious how the referees will be. Not that I'm blaming them for the losses but they've mindnumbingly inconsistent and bad.

It makes the NHL look bush league for sure.
