“I just hope he can bring some energy, strong play at the net and, if need be, chip in offensively,” said Clouston. “(Cheechoo) brings a little bit more speed. Jonathan had a real good playoffs last year. He’s got a history of scoring some goals. That’s right now what we need feel more of. Right now, one shot can change a game and we feel he’s one of those types of players.”

I wonder if he weighed Donvan's "youthful enthusiasm" versus Cheechoo's speed before making a final decision?

I can totally understand people giving up hope, but at the same time, perhaps now isn't the time. We're down 2-1, it sucks, we're being outplayed, but this coach has shown that he can turn this team around pretty quick.

I won't lie, I had a serious tantrum when Crosby walked out and scored the third goal the other night - it was pretty bad, including pounding the crap out of the couch and I even threatened to shave my playoff beard, but in the end Sensgirl11 talked me out of it (kind of) and you get the sense that it's not worth giving up on these guys - the same way that you hope they won't give up on themselves and you.

Wow.

StubHub has tickets in 116 (center ice) for $699 each! And that's row C. Section 107 (blue line) is $369 (also row C). Ouch.

Capitaltickets.ca has 2 tickets in 112 (behind the goal, off to the side) for $330 all taxes and everything -- that's for 2 tickets.

There are still some singles left at the ticket office. My buddy and I scooped up two of them yesterday; we'll be sitting at opposite ends of the rink, but we don't care!

Why do Ottawans refuse to sit "alone" at a playoff game? I had an extra single for Game 3 of the SCF (in the 300s; my own ticket was in the 200s) and was asking $200 for it (face value minus the taxes and fees I'd shelled out), but could find NO takers. I wandered up and down the access tunnel and the surrounding lots for an hour, but everyone wanted a pair of adjacent seats! I finally did sell it, but what a disillusioning hassle it was.

That's what happens when your dad gives up his ticket at the last minute and everyone you know has already made plans.

I'll be there with my wife and daughter as per usual. I'll go into the game feeling good and positive about our chances as I usually do. I'll cheer for the team and I'll be wearing my red Jersey circa 2003 with pride despite having broken some cardinal jersey rules. I'll stand before the team steps on to the ice. I'll make a feeble attempt at clapping with my daughter held in one arm. I'll probably yell at the refs. Win or lose (I may be some pissed off if so) I'll be there 'till the end.

You are not wrong to think, but you are wrong.

Crosby stood Alfie up, more than anything. Alfie had the puck in his feet and trying to find it. Would have been nice if one of his buddies would holler "Look out!" though.

Would also have been nice to have one of our players out there put Crosby's teeth right down his throat for him. GAME 4 - 2010 Stanley Cup GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators (1) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (2), Tuesday Apr. 20, 2010 - 7:00PM EST. - Page 25 54934

Thing is, why? He hits Alfie, Alfie barely even falls down, looks and finds his stick, picks it up and skates away. If he had gone down and stayed there, or got up slowly, looking dazed, sure. But it looked just like a nice hard hit -- exactly the kids you want to see and you don't want to see retaliation. You want to see it evened up, for sure, but not in any retaliatory way.

He really could've killed Alfie if he wanted to, he let up a bit and got him in the chest/shoulder. Hopefully it woke Alfie up and knocked some sense into him, we need him more than ever tonight.

What if no one in the media gushes over Crosby tonight? History will be made.

SensGirl11 wrote:I don't understand why Donovan is getting shafted so badly here. He's fast, he hits hard and he creates a lot of chances when he's on the ice. Why does Clouston dislike him so much? Why is he not getting a chance?

I've thought since the last time he played, that his knee is done for the career. He struggled pretty badly, if I was a betting man, I'd say that he's completely done. He could play, but it would be a very bad idea for a team who needs to win this game. Smith and Winchester are better options. I could be wrong of course, but I'll wait to hear what Donovan's deal is after our season is over (if we ever hear about it).

I didn't realize, that would make sense then. He looked okay last time he played and he scored too, so I thought he would be inserted. That must be the reason then cause I don't see any other reason to keep him out. Too bad for Donovan, he had a pretty Dung season with us.
