Why did Alfie just go medieval on Oripk. Did he try to slew-foot him or something?

Because every time the Sens hustle and draw a penalty, they don't get the call.

Every time Pittsburgh does it they get rewarded.
Lame excuse.

We really don't have the horses to overcome such one-sided, biased refereeing. This isn't Team Canada women against Team USA in 2002. This is a #5 seeded team that lost it's #1 (minutes per game) D and two of it's top-six forwards.

I am still wondering why Clouston decided to play Spezza against Crosby.
if the series continues like this were done, wow sens to the PK,

Well, you know, he's doing his job *extremely* well. It's what his job description is.

Another situation -- Orpik holds Alfie, Alfie jumps him, Cooke drives Alfie's face into the boards. Alfie gets the only 2 minutes.

Clearly the NHL wants the defending Stanley Cup champions from a U.S. city to continue playing until NBC has their ducks all in a row.

He was pushed. It was interference.

I'm not one to complain about the refs, but this is bad.

Sens working just as hard as the Pens and just not getting the same calls. I have to agree with pretty much everyone of your comments so far in this thread.

This is sad as a hockey fan in general to have an outcome that is almost decided entirely by the officials.

Ottawa 24 penalty minutes Pens 10 penalty minutes nothing wrong with those numbers

It's really all we could cheer for when the refs are doing their job like this!

we were the most penalized team in the league for a while there, why would we expect different now?

Nope. Not lame at all.

If they were completely healthy, then, sure. It's not lame when they are missing 1/3of their top-six and a minute-munching D-man.
