I'd rather keep Cullen as a 2nd line centre, he'd come cheaper (if he wants to stay).

I'd try and sign A-train before going after any other FA's, I don't think we have much room anyway.

We just don't have the cap space for another big contract up front, tho'. We have too many guys up for re-signing this year. And we've already got $47+ mil committed to 9 forwards, 5 D (that includes Lee, yuck), and 2 goalies next year -- and that's with Cheechoo in the minors, and the following players not signed:

Cullen
Foligno
Regin
Winchester
Volchenkov
Campoli

And that cap scenario is also assuming that Cowen, Butler, and Smith are in the minors.

We have a lot of money decision to make very shortly. I just don't see any $5+ mil signings in our future, especially up front. Maybe if Kovalev goes on LTIR. Or if Spezza or Fisher is traded. That's about it.

Not at his price tag... No thx!

And what is his price tag going to be? Sarcasm

He'll probably get paid around $5M.

Wow. The Sharks managed to win in OT after rallying from a goal down 5 separate times in Game 2. Pavelski ties it in the last minute, then Setoguchi wins it in OT. Tough game for the Avs and that would have put a strangehold on this series considering how fragile the Sharks would have been if they'd fallen down by 2-0.

Again, the top line is goalless. Heatley with another stellar zero point performance. Looks so good on him.

Colorado/San Jose and Detroit/Phoenix were goal fest's. In Phoenix there was something like 5 goals in just over 3 minutes.

Disappointed that neither Phoenix nor Colorado could hold onto a lead. Not good goaltending in those two games.

Niemi let in possibly the worst goal all night, possibly even the playoffs.

How is Nabokov still in goal? Or do they not have a backup? And why are you surprised about Heatley's "performance"? His 20 points came more from secondary assists on Alfie (8 goals) and Spezza (4 goals) than from his own production (5 goals). 5 goals in 20 games is not too bad, but when you are *the* sniper on that line you should have at least half of the goals, so he should have had 9. Spezza and Alfie are better playoff performers than Thornton and Marleau.

Oh, I am not surprised. Just stating fact. I gotta wonder if they'll let Nabokov kill another playoff season for them or will they give Greiss a chance? Probably later on in the series when it's all but over. San Jose may win this series, but I can't see them beating at least 4 other teams in the West.

And yet, he'll pretty much have to morph into Patrick Lalime in that infamous game seven against the Leafs for Quenneville to even consider playing Huet.

Life must be good if you're a Shark...just get as many PPs as you need at the end of the game to win it.

Don't forget, Boston@Buffalo is an afternoon game -- 1PM start time. Must be on NBC. It's also on CBC and RDS.

I watched the Sharks game. Heatley had an asissts but he was actually one of their best forwards. He was hustling, playing well defensevily, and just creating a lot of chances.
