I still can't take him seriously. Wow. I can't believe he was their best D-man this series. We'll see what he'll do against the Pens.
Oh Cap'n... you are too funny.Cap'n Clutch wrote:But Pittsburgh is Pittsburgh and Crosby is Crosby so advance them now without playing the games because the series will never be in question and MAF is money. If he lets in soft goals or bad goals he'll just shake it off and make the key save.

Lets just see what we shall see. The Habs are still a long shot but so were the Sens and they took them to 6 games with a game six OT and the Sens were severely under-maned. Of those in the lineup the two biggest leaders were playing with surgery requiring injuries.

No kidding, it's like he's skating in quicksand. I don't understand why the Semins of the world didn't just blow by him and drive the net. When I was yelling for them to do it, they did and they started getting chances, but you certainly can't enter the zone, dipsy-doodle and shoot, it'll be blocked 99% of the time.

Oh yeah, those dipsy doodling Caps. I couldn't understand why they were playing that way, it clearly wasn't working. If they wanted a chance against a goalie like Halak who is playing ridiculously well right now, they needed to crash the net. Why they never figured that out is beyond me. Boudreau failed in that sense with them, he's gotta put them in the right direction if something isn't working. He clearly didn't. As I said yesterday when we were watching, they were all asked to play like Alex Ovechkin, from the forwards down to the D. Problem is, there is only 1 Ovie. That definitely did them in.

I think the Cap'n is a closet Habs fan...

Yeah. It's tempting to want to play run and gun all the time when you have the tools, but if a team is suffocating you, you must change the game plan. They're the biggest team at forward in the entire league, they needed to dump, chase and crash over and over and over again. If not that, they needed to bring the puck right up the middle and chip it on net and follow it up by absolutely plowing into Halak (again, over and over).
Boudreau is to blame. I was thinking yesterday that he'd get another chance - and I still do - but I could certainly see if they were to fire him for this.
