Umm, you're kidding right? They have the Hart Trophy favorite playing up front along with the 3rd best offense in the league. Luongo was pulled more then anyone in The NHL this year, haha.

Luongo is not a great goalie, he's a good goalie, that's it.

If anything the rest of The Canucks have carried Luongo most of the year.

Don't put words in my mouth, I said before the Olympics that Luongo should be the starter.

I don't care if the players think he's overrated (plus he got 6% of the votes, not a huge percentage anyway), the guy is a good goalie who doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves, and he is always blamed if his team loses. It's never the Sedins, it's never the D, it's Luongo. Maybe that comes with his contract and captaincy, but it's BS. He's getting run every Diddling night and the refs let it go.

The Canucks would be nowhere as an organization without Luongo in nets. He's the main reason they've been relevant for the last 3-4 years. He's a great goalie and in my opinion he is the best goalie left in the playoffs. and don't even say Tuukka Rask...

and who Diddling cares how much the guy makes, anybody would rather have Luongo than Elliott no matter how much more money he makes...

What has he done in The NHL to deserve any respect? Vezina's? Cups? Carried any teams deep? He's done nothing in The NHL in 10 years, a few playoff rounds and that's about it.

You probably should actually care what the players think because, well, they actually play the game. You think other teams or players fear playing Luongo? No, they dont. Easily rattled, doesnt battle, and is a phoney leader. He leads nothing.

Tell me what he's done in The NHL and you can shove that down my throat, go ahead. Anything at all!

Oh, the Tuka Rask that's been basically unbeatable? That Tukka Rask? Rask is already a better goaltender then Luongo and has proven a lot in a short period. Hell, he's about to win more rounds in one playoff then Luongo has in a single playoff.

No he hasn't won anything, but when he loses it's BS how it's always his fault. As for the Vezina, it was hard for him to win it because of playing in the same era as Marty Brodeur, and because he doesn't get the recognition he deserves because of playing on the West Coast .

and as for Rask, any goalie can play well if Julien's system is executed to perfection...see the fluke season by Tim Thomas as proof of that. If Gillis traded Luongo for Rask he would be shot.

It just pisses me off that the guy has a couple of bad goals tonight so you and others have to crucify him, yet when he actually dominates he gets no praise and it's simply because the players in front of him are playing well. Typical with fans these days

and I just read that "Luongo voted the most overrated" article, and it's such BS....he was voted by 3 PLAYERS as the most overrated, and in an actual REAL poll, Phaneuf was voted the most overrated (20.6% of 272 players)

So NO the players DIDN'T vote Luongo as the most overrated

Miller, Lundqvist, Kipper, Ward, Rinne, Bryzgalov, Rask, Anderson, Luongo, Voukoun, Halak, that's 11.

That was a poll where goalies were not included because a buddy took it.

And if Gilles did trade Luongo for Rask he wouldnt be shot, he would probably be praised for some forsight.

What Rask is doing isnt a fluke, he's been developed perfectly and is as solid technically and mentally as they come, especially at his age. Rask is going to be giving The East fits for a looooooong time.

Why do people rip on him after a game like tonight? Because he gets rattled and falls apart, it always happens. If there is a more mentally weak goaltender in The NHL I'm not sure who it is.

Also look at the dates of the poll's, the one where Phaneuf was voted most overated there are no goalies included in the final results becuase they were excluded from the poll.

When they were included, Luongo was on the top of the list, that's why they took it again.

Whatever...these playoffs aren't over for him, we'll see what happens the rest of the way.

I'll give you an example: The epic goaltending battle between Dallas and Vancouver in which Turco pitched 3 shutouts but Luongo still won that series and had almost as ridiculous goalie stats as Turco's. Tell me beating a goalie that has 3 shutouts is easy and I'll know for certain just how slanted your view is.
