I might be misleading myself, but I feel that we'll still be crazy competitive.

I still say the two Florida games were the kinds that you rest your vets. Games can be meaningful in different ways. Those games were not meaningful w.r.t. standings. It didn't matter if we won or lost, and we'd had 79 "practice" games against NHL teams.

Not only did we clinch, but there was (virtually) no way we could move up, move down, or affect who our first round opponent would be. If your only argument is "practice", then that is a weak argument.

No, we lost Kovalev to a meaningless game, that remains true.

Look, we let that game against TB get super emotional and physical, and get involved in all kinds of fisticuffs and rough stuff. It was just the wrong time of year to get drawn into that stuff. We couldn't move up or down, there was nothing to prove.

Of course I realize that we didn't lose Kovalev to a dirty hit or anything, but, really, we're lucky he was the only player we lost to that game. It could have been much worse given the kind of game we got drawn into.

I agree, tho' -- this is a blow to the Sens, but not an insurmountable one. We still have one of the deepest teams we've ever had.

Okay, yeah, I realize what you're saying, don't get me wrong, but this probably could have come in game 20 instead of game 81. I'm peeved because Kovalev had been weak for us and I was looking forward to seeing that he'd do in the playoffs for sure. Big opportunity for someone though *cough* Shannon, do it!

You aren't *seriously* suggesting that Shannon can replace Kovalev? I like the --what did Clouston call him? -- little prick, but he is not going to do what Kovalev could on the power play, and he's certainly not going to draw as much attention away from his linemates.

But it's very true that he'll give a completely different dynamic to the line, if he does, indeed, replace Kovalev.

The Deller is in no way cut out to fill in for Kovalev. Winchester would be better, but still wouldn't cut it.

Anyhow, they will try Fisher on the wing until he tells the coach otherwise. Will be good while it lasts.

I hate to say this to *you*, of all people, but ... source?

Come on CBC, show us something from the SBP. They had all the Sens wearing #11 in warm up. They've got #11 painted in the ice, and I get to watch how Cammalleri doesn't eat soy because it has estrogen? Really?

Oh, it was really funny. He tells Friedman that he doesn't buy anything that can't be grown or killed-- nothing from a box. And just the scene before he's mixing some powder from a plastic bottle -- amino acids and stuff. Yeah, where did he kill that bottle? Maybe he thinks because he brought his own reusable grocery bag and bagged it it counts?

Well in that case, if it works, he'll stay there for a while.

Fisher was hooked twice on that play.

Other than that, good hit.

Nevermind, thought they were calling Sutton with interference for some reason.

How can you *not* know Sutton's on the ice?
