Loving that huge hit Sutton had on Jokinen even though he did come awfully close to smoking Cullen on the play.

Is he the best forward in the league over the last 8 games?

Just got home from the game, that was a Diddling awesome end. Holy Dung that was cool. Go Spezza, go Karlsson, go Whitney for icing it (what a fool). Soooooooooooooooooo stoked right now! Wow.

Lalalala Ahhhhh! Ahhhhh!

By the way, props to Butler for being a standout in his first NHL game. I hope he continues to play for Ottawa because once he learns the system and adjusts to the NHL, he's going to be a dangerous player in the NHL.
So fast, such a nice skater, has a great sense for spacing. Exciting.

I love the new nickname (I think it was from Dean): Mount Sutton.

It was coined by Don Brennan GAME DAY: Carolina Hurricanes @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Thu. Apr. 1st, 2010 - Page 16 489887 . Would have been better if it was from Dean!

Also worth noting that the Sens are 5 points back of Buffalo with 4 games to go.
Buffalo's last games: MON, NYR, BOS, OTT, NJD
Ottawa's last games: NYI, FLA, TBL, BUF

Not saying it's very likely, but I am going to say I'd definitely take our schedule over Buffalo's.

Yeah right, of course I'll enjoy the stay, I've been waiting for it since...well, I've been waiting for a guy like this since 1992. Ahhhhh! Lalalala

He should have scored, it was so close and it would have been so awesome.

This kid is going to be a 50-point defenseman next year. I can't wait for him to log some experience. The more seasoning he gets, the better he's going to be.
If Senators fans remember Murray for absolutely anything during his time in Ottawa, it should be this draft pick. Genius. Pure genius.

There is such a swagger about him right now that if it continues - or can you imagine, gets better - then the sky is literally the limit. He brings everything that was missing on the Sens blueline. Once we tried to fill that void with Joe Corvo, now we have something 1000 times better. Very exciting stuff. Ahhhhh!

He's certainly having a phenomenal second half to the season. Imagine if Kuba hadn't gone down in the first game and Karlsson was here the whole year playing with the steadying influence of a vet. He'd probably have 40 points by now.

We could actually do some damage this year.

Poor Clouston. Who could you even sit when Kuba and Michalek come back? Does this team, unfathomably, have too much depth?

You know what team I see when I see this year's Ottawa Senators? The 2005-06 Carolina Hurricanes.

PKC wrote:Jason Spezza with another 3 point night tonight. This is the best Spezza I've ever seen.

Yup, that was another good night for sure. He actually threw a few hits and made a lot of smart, safe plays when he didn't have a lot to work with. And the face-off win late in the game was clutch.

Spezza would shut everyone up if he would just keep playing like this. He doesn't need 3 assists every night -- it helps, of course -- but he does need to play smart and create. I don't think he turned a puck over all night.

I'll say this for him: he's picked a good time to pick it up.

That last-minute goal was huge. The Sens just almost never do that, ever. Good sign it terms of the team's overall confidence.

Two big thumbs up to CC for giving that spot on the ice to Karlsson, at that time and for that situation. Kid was clearly on in the offensive zone all night.

We're gonna draw a tough first round, but the future's so bright we have to start wearing shades. Cool
