Well, they'll just watch I think.
GM Hockey
We may see them in one or two games... especially if Buffalo clinches the Northeast tonight. Aside from that, it's good to get them hanging 'round with the big boys... give them a taste of what they're playing for.marakh wrote:Well, they'll just watch I think.

Lehner was signed to a 3 year entry contract.
Gryba was signed to a 2 year entry contract.
Both are going to Binghampton on an amateur tryout.
I guess the 3 year contract for Lehner and 2 year for Gryba recognize that Lehner is a higher quality(better) prospect and hence the greater committment.
Why is it called an amateur tryout? I assume that they are paid for their time Binghampton.
Can anyone shed any light on the subtleties of the contract?
The number of years of the player's ELC is always tied directly into their age at the time of signing:
18-21 years old = 3 year deal
22-23 years old = 2 year deal
24 years old = 1 year deal
25+ = not in the entry-level system, don't sign ELC deals
The amateur tryout contracts are, for sure, a nice way to get Lehner and Gryba playing in Bingo right now without burning a year off of their ELCs.
