Does this mean Lehner is ineligible to go back to the Soo next year and he'll be with Bingo come the fall?

He can still play for the Soo as far as I know, but this probably means the Sens have plans for him in Bingo.

He did what he could for the Soo though, he took them to a playoff spot. It was positive all around I would say.

Thats crazy that Wiercioch and Butler are joining the team instead of going straight to Bingo....could we get our first taste of Butler and Weircioch before the season ends! Wiercioch, Lehner & Gryba Signed - Page 2 805406

How are the vets gonna feel with all these kids running around? lol

Wiercioch, Butler, possibly Lehner and Cowen. If I was a Bingo fan I'd be loving life right now, that team will be back in the playoffs next year.

If Volchenkov misses any time, we may well see Wiercioch this week. Who knows?

Can't wait to see all the details on these deals...

EDIT: also, my guess is that BM just wants them practising with and hanging around the team, getting used to the idea of playing in the NHL and getting ready for what's coming. We might see a game or two from each guy, but that's it -- because of the lateness of the signings, none of these guys will be eligible to play for us in the playoffs, and I imagine BM and CC want the guys on this team prepared and ready to go. Gives you options to sit guys like Alfie in the last few games, tho', too, to avoid a repeat of last time around -- i.e., having our best players targetted and taken out by playoff spoiler teams looking to leave their mark.

Last game of the season, most of them will probably play, with the Sens' spot secured.

Murray says he wouldn't be surprised if Gryba seriously challenges for a spot on the blueline in training camp in the fall ....

So we have Cowen, Wiercioch and Gryba "seriously" challenging for a spot?

With Karlsson a lock, and imagining if those 3 all made the team, that would leave only two spots for Phillips, Kuba and Carkner (Campoli, Sutton and Volchenkov are all free agents).

And we would have a shot at the 1st overall pick in 2011.

well that's the thing, i think they might be challenging for the same 1 or 2 spots. i still hope volchie and/ or cullen sign. i'm swinging thowards cullen a bit more these days since i think he might take a pay cut on a multi-year deal. volchie sounds like he's going after the paycheck. maybe they sign both and trade Kuba in the summer?

Lehner's going to Binghamton today, not yesterday as reported.

I wouldn't mind seeing one new body on D from our prospects but I wouldn't be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Obviously Allen Panzeri of The Citizen thinks highly of Lehner..."But mark this down: He’ll be the starting goalie in October 2011"

He's saying that because we're losing Volchenkov and he wants people's attention on other things. I can't think of another reason Gryba wouldn't play a full year in the AHL.
