Alfi, well, tough to blame a 37 year old who has given his all for 15 years. Kovy, meh, w/e, it's Kovy.

Im starting to get pretty sick of Fisher and I think that's the guy that perhaps ges dealt over Spezza come July 1. Just doesnt have the same drive he used to and plays with a lot less jump. Maybe Nashville is exactly what the Dr ordered for him because Zack Smith IMO is the ideal replacement for him, not for Kelly who I would rather have than Fisher at this point despite my previous thoughts on his 1/2 way through the year. Sell high with FIsher.

Wouldn't "sell high" apply more to Kelly, who is 2 goals and 9 points off his career year (and given how little the Sens are scoring compared to that season -- 3.49 goals per game versus 2.62 this year -- you could not possibly expect his assists to be very high).

Fisher had a great start but his second-half decline (collapse?) is what GMs will remember come July.

I see there are a couple quick posts from a certain someone, proving my earlier point Smile

Fisher and Spezza will actually fetch an somewhat decent return. I just dont see how this team can continue to be a border line playoff team who is aging up front when they have A LOT of great young peices. If you can deal Fisher or Spezza to Edm and get a guy like MPS or Wilson out of it, I think you have to consider it.

Anyways, it's all based on what happens over the next month, we'll see I guess but there is no way you cant shake up this team if it fails again.

If we're selling high with Nashville, what's the return? GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Dallas Stars – 2:00PM EST, Saturday, March 20, 2010 - Page 6 159628

Kelly is a guy that is too valueable to Ottawa IMO, especially at a decent cap hit. Kelly also wont get as large a return as Fisher. Maybe a 2nd rounder, but with Fisher you could probably get a young roster player/prospect up front. We'll see though, I'm just spit balling right now.

There is no way Kelly will get more then Fisher though, plus Kelly plays that 3rd/4th line center role to perfection. Zack Smith is more of a Fisher type then a Kelly type as well and I think he has the potential to be that 2nd line guy with a little expierence.

Maybe something like Fisher/Lee for Grebiskov/Wilson. Something along those lines. That's what Ottawa would be looking for anywyas, I dont see Nashville trading away Wilson for that package, but they need some help up front for sure.

I'm not at all arguing about Kelly being valuable (my opinion of him has certainly changed over the season) but I am questioning how Fisher can be considered a "sell high" situation.

Fisher will definitely get more, and he will clear more cap room (plus room for Regin or Cullen as our second line center). As much as I like Fisher, if it was a choice between trading him and Kelly, I'd trade Fisher. But I still disagree that we would be "Selling high", unless he finishes the last 11 games the way he started the first 30.

Leclaire in; Michalek and Carkner out. Winchester or Donovan to replace Michalek is a game-time decision.

If they can resign Cullen I would move Fisher for sure. Anyways, the intangibles and fact that Fisher is a somewhat legit 20 goal guy is a big selling point. Despite his inconsistancy his value is still pretty high. I def think you can get a decent prospect or roster player (winger) for Fisher. Maybe a Boyes for Fisher deal? That would be a pretty decent hockey trade if you can put him on the other side with Spezza.

Fisher's got a little more value than a Brad Boyes I think. That guy has seriously regressed. Two years ago he had 43 goals, this year he might not even score 43 points.

Food for thought...

I'd trade Fisher if we could get a top level winger or a top defenseman. And I think he's a good enough player to warrant such value. Maybe Nashville, and this isn't wishful thinking, would be interested in parting with some of their elite talent on the blue line in exchange for some more sandpaper and scoring up front.

Ya, but you have to look for the right fit too. I think Brad Boyes along side Spezza would defently work and I think is defently a better option then anywhere Fisher plays. I think their value is pretty close to even along with their overall salaries and term. MAYBE you you ask for an Ian Cole or Jake Allen back as well, some level of prospect like that but I think it would be a prety fair deal and one that would defently work for Ottawa looking at what they are missing at this point.

Michalek out for 2+ weeks, so CC'll be forced to try out some new combinations. I like that personally. I want to see what Cullen on Spezza's LW can do. Although, Cullen's excellent at faceoffs, I still expect to see him there with Spez and Alfie. As for Fisher and Kovalev - I would split them up for sure, Regin and Kovalev, while the FFS line is re-united.

Sounds like Regin is getting the shot up on the top line with Spezza and Alfi... why not?

Where was that reported Spez?

So does Winchester draw in, or Donovan? I doubt they call Smith up with two bodies sitting in the box. They should probably alternate between Winchester and Donovan, give them both some time.

Donovan the healthy scratch; Winchester in.

Not sure I agree, but I'm no the coach.

I actually kinda like the thought of that, but I swear if that's to keep Fisher and Kovalev together I will lose my mind, lol.

Regin - Spezza - Alfredsson
Shannon - Cullen - Kovalev
Foligno - Fisher - Kelly
Ruutu - Winny - Neil
Dono

Kuba is a late scratch! Carkner back in to play with Karlsson. But Carkner had an upper body injury.
