I do too. I'm not interested in Schubert version 2.0.

At 6'0" and a buck-ninety he'd have to be "Schubert Lite".

Our scoring woes are over. Bring up Chris Holt!
http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/32297-Binghamtons-Chris-Holt-becomes-10th-goalie-in-AHL-history-to-score-goal.html

He's only the 6th AHL goalie to ever actually score a goal (and not just be credited with a goal).

I'm especially not interested in that. GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Dallas Stars – 2:00PM EST, Saturday, March 20, 2010 - Page 5 270956

I checked again, and there's still nothing on YouTube for Sutton's "elbow" on Boulton. Anyone have a link?

N4L wrote:Nah, it isnt. I just call out stupid comments like it's not worrysome when your leading goal scorer goes down when your team cant score goals. Or even better, "The Washington Capitals are The Phenoix Suns of The NBA".

Actually I see his point. Michalek may be our leading scorer, but he got that way early and really hasn't done much lately. If we lost Alfie-Spezza-Michalek right now we would not be losing a lot of offense. Might even make us play better as a team.

N4L wrote:You want to make comments like that, better start backing them up with some statistics or fatcs, or better yet, logic. You jump around here saying absolutely insane things that make no sense and when ONE thing happens in a game you say "see, I told ya". Be it Carey Price having one good game where he lost or The Sens coming back.

If you want to post, you better make sure you actually have some idea what you're actually posting. Stupidity and ignorance is unacceptable here as the monitors have made this a site where a lot of good and in depth conversation take place. There is a reason why posters that I loved dont post here as much anymore and it's because of the stupid comments that come from your mouth and douche bags like Notch/Cloverleaf.

Rooney doesnt post much anymore, Gohan, Robby, all the guys that have a good persepctive.

In all seriousness, your post kill the site and the reputation it actually once had. The last thing anyone wants around here is for it to turn into HB or HF, you might be better off there with a lot other simps.

A bit harsh there, no? Rooney doesn't post much because I don't stir him up any more. Do you really think that whole "Prove Spezza was injured" crap was insightful? It was a lot of posturing with big words and clever phrases but it added nothing to the hockey discussion. Plus he's too busy teaching three courses and working his way toward tenure. I don't think BigEv's posts have anything to do with Rooney, Gohan or RobbyJ posting less than they used to.

I have three jobs, and I'm just too busy to post a lot right now. I assure you, wprager, you give yourself too much credit in thinking you have anything to do with whether or not I'm posting.

Right now, I only get to scroll through the site, literally as I go from one job to the next (I'm marking right now, and that means more breaks). I key in on certain guys (like N4L), avoid others entirely, and whiz past the fluff with a tinge of annoyance. But certainly the fluffy commentary and cloverleaf-ism has been on the rise around here and has negatively affected the site, and yeah, that affects how much time I spend here, too. I've been saying that since about 2 weeks after N4L got chased off the site -- that's about 6 months or so now.

As for your evaluation of my contribution to this site, all I have to say is:

"Big words and clever phrases." LOL. Sure thing, bud. And what's the excuse for Spezza lately, btw? More mystery injuries? Everybody else's fault? Goaltending? Pfffh. Same old story with this guy, and with his fans. How many times can you turn a blind eye on this guy before the fact of the truth of the matter slaps you in the face?

Anyway, when I want to know the opinion of someone who makes a big point out of calling attention to the fact that he doesn't watch 85% of the games under discussion, and/or can't give them his full attention, I'll call you up. Man, I thought for sure I was the one guy you had on ignore.

Could be just what the doctor ordered... or, then again, we could make yet another mediocre goalie look like a superstar.

How's this for a statistic: the sens need to win 6 of their remaining 7 road games just to get to .500 on the road. That is brutal, and with Buffalo running away with the division lead, we can say goodbye to another streak:

1998 Olympic Season: 1st round - Sens Beat NJ, 2nd round - Sens lose to the Caps

2002 Olympic Season: 1st round - Sens beat Flyers, 2nd round - Sens lose to the Leafs (Ricard Persson GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Dallas Stars – 2:00PM EST, Saturday, March 20, 2010 - Page 5 489887)

I think I recall Lehtonen burning us a few times when he was with Atlanta...anyone know how he's looked since coming back from injury?

Well, Spezza, Kovy, and Alfi need to step up today for sure, they need to get things going in a big way. Spezza seems to be back to his inconsistant ways, not doing a whole lot right now. Alfi, well, tough to blame a 37 year old who has given his all for 15 years. Kovy, meh, w/e, it's Kovy.

Im starting to get pretty sick of Fisher and I think that's the guy that perhaps ges dealt over Spezza come July 1. Just doesnt have the same drive he used to and plays with a lot less jump. Maybe Nashville is exactly what the Dr ordered for him because Zack Smith IMO is the ideal replacement for him, not for Kelly who I would rather have than Fisher at this point despite my previous thoughts on his 1/2 way through the year. Sell high with FIsher.

Good point. Fisher's value will be the highest its ever been this off season. Knowing ottawa tendencies, they won't trade a guy who's so involved in the community with Roger's house especially. plus, let's not sell him too short. He was our best player in the first 1/2 of the year. Inconsistent for sure, but he's by far the most clutch player we have this season.

Absolutely he is as important off the ice as any player has ever been, but there are still guys like Neil and Phillips around here still. What he does off the ice should not be over looked.

Im still of the opinion that perhaps Fisher is the guy that has to go if this season goes into the john. It's him or Spezza, I dont see how there wont be a major core shakeup with anything less then a 7 game, hard fought, first round series.

haven't seen one of those since pre-lockout. I think Kovalev is gone before one of these two. that being said, its way harder to trade him than fisher or spezz

Wouldn't "sell high" apply more to Kelly, who is 2 goals and 9 points off his career year (and given how little the Sens are scoring compared to that season -- 3.49 goals per game versus 2.62 this year -- you could not possibly expect his assists to be very high).

Fisher had a great start but his second-half decline (collapse?) is what GMs will remember come July.

Fisher and Spezza will actually fetch an somewhat decent return. I just dont see how this team can continue to be a border line playoff team who is aging up front when they have A LOT of great young peices. If you can deal Fisher or Spezza to Edm and get a guy like MPS or Wilson out of it, I think you have to consider it.

Anyways, it's all based on what happens over the next month, we'll see I guess but there is no way you cant shake up this team if it fails again.
