What a waste of a great game from The Sens for the most part. This one was goaltending. Leclaire, well, 11 goals against his last 2 games... Elliott or bust the rest of the way.

This is not a knee-jerk reaction, I've thought about this for a while:

I would waive Leclaire tomorrow morning and hope that someone needs some insurance for the playoffs. If he clears waivers, I would keep him on the Sens roster, if he gets picked up, I'll call up Brodeur. We need to clear this clowns money off next year's cap.

I thought they played well for most of the game but a lapse at the end of the 2nd period cost them this game. A save at a big moment would have been nice though and it seems as though Leclaire is definitely a guy that can't give you that. Elliott is the man now that Leclaire blew it for what I think is his last opportunity this year. Just a sickening game but on the bright side they did do a lot of positive things in this game. Just one or 2 big saves and they would have won that game I think.

I'd say he had at least 2, probably 3 opportunities to make a great save. I *really* don't like harping on a goalie for a loss, but between him and Karlsson that was brutal. Karlsson is a 19-year-old rookie making one third the salary (plus he was playing with a new partner for the first time).

Leclaire was brutal today, no doubt. I was really hoping he would come through but he did anything but. Im not for waiving Leclaire, no way would I do that but he wont be finding his game this year. He isnt ready to be a number 1, Elliott is close to being there but still has his lapses, but def the best The Sens have.

It's Elliott the rest of the way, Im pretty sure if he was in nets today The Sens would have come away with a point. Elliott has never let in 11 goals in 2 straight games in his life, wouldnt have happend today. Good thing is though, he will be prepared for Monday against The Habs. If The Sens play the same way they did today and Elliott plays like he usually does, they will win that one.

Exactly, hard to hang a loss on a 19 year old kid. A 27 year old 3.8 million dollar goalie, absolutely you can. He hasnt won a game in 2010, pretty pathetic. Maybe he will never be as good as he is tallented, I am def off the "believe in Pascal" boat. Today was his chance and to be honest, it was the perfect game to feel the puck and just play sound, he failed in a big, bad way.

Go Elliott, he's all The Sens have.

Are we ready to admit cloverleaf was right, then?

Leclaire: "It wasn't my best game, but I don't think I was that bad, either."

Clouston: "You can't give up 5 goals on the first 18, 19 shots,"

Facepalm

They're not on the same page, are they.

A player claimed on waivers now IS NOT eligible for the playoffs.

I think Leclaire is an unmovable asset. He is owed 4.8 million bucks next year, which no one will take. I still think there is upside to him, and I also think both he and Elliott will be better this year. It just hasn't been his year. He was playing very well before breaking his jaw.

To be honest, the playoffs this season are a bit of a bonus. It will be a good experience for Elliott, Karlsson, Campoli, Sutton, Carkner, etc. going forward. Most here thought they were a 6-10 team and would be touch and go to make the playoffs.

I wouldn't bring up Brodeur as it does more long-term harm than good. Like all Sens fans though, the thought has crossed my mind more than once. But don't forget that Elliott was an NHL star of the week 2 weeks in a row not that long ago.

I don't know what it is about this team. The desire to win is just not there. You never get the feeling they are fighting to win for 60 minutes. They show up, play the game and if they win great, if they loose-oh well. How in the hell do you get them to care....

I hate to say it but even the Leafs show a fight to win every game.

Is it Alfie, Clouston, Spezza, management, I don't know.

Leclaire is an idiot then.

Whatever the "leadership" is on this team, their message is not getting through. If this team misses the playoffs, I don't care who they trade (Alfie, Phillips, etc.). No one would be untouchable in my book (even though trading those players would never happen).

I think Phillips would be very tradeable come this off season. I think he would be a good fit on Edmonton's defence next season.

If the team misses the playoffs again I think you will see Murray give up the GM spot move up stairs and bring someone else in. Leclaire will also get moved on for a more proven net minder.

Fisher and LeClaire need to go on a hunting trip. Fisher needs to pull a Dick Cheney on his a$$

The desire to win hasn't been there since 18 games into the 2008/2009 Season.

I'm starting to think that Alfie needs to retire

Today's game was encouraging IMO. If Elliott is in nets there I think they win. If they can come back with the same effort on Monday and Elliott can play with some consistancy and make a couple big saves, they will win.

If they do fail to make the playoffs though, I dont see how you keep this core together or dont rebuild all together. Alfi wont be traded now would Phillips based on A Train picking up and moving, you also need him for a rebuild IMO, nor will Karlsso, Elliott, or any other of the younger guys, but Fisher, Spezza, Kovalev, Leclaire, who ever, they might and probably 1/2 of them will be gone.
