The only thing that can be taken from this game is Elliott is the go to guy and will be the rest of the way. I dont see Leclaire getting anything but selected starts.

Yeah, whatever was left of the 'goaltending controversy' died tonight I think.

Extra money to play with this summer once we trade Leclaire, that's a bright side I guess.

Leclaire wont go for more then Justin Pogge at this point.

I would be Brodure is the backup in Ottawa next year, the potential is there for sure.

If you are looking for LEclaire's equivilant right now, it's Toskala. Trading him for a border line NHL backup is all that you will get for him right now and that's probably enough come before next season.

I dunno, he's been pretty bad in Bingo recently, but yeah, there are enough backups out there to do some work. Heck, look at Manny Legace for one.

There's no use for trading Leclaire at this point. He has zero trade value and I can't see Melynk taking another hit by buying out his contract, he'll be here next year 100%.

I dislike Leclaire, but there's no market for goalies right now. I can't see any team being interested to be honest. If someone would take him there are plenty of guys who will be UFA's this off-season who can replace Leclaire at 1/3 the price.

I still doubt it's the right idea to jettison him, but I think a team like Edmonton might be willing to give him a try if Bulin is out for longer than expected. I'm sure Leclaire is good, we just haven't seen it yet really here - and that's a shame.

The problem is that Edmonton has a whole list of guys they could go after: Turco, Biron, Roloson, Ellis, Halak, Price, Mike Smith, Vokoun, Huet, Toskola, Schneider, ect

Yeah, I was mentioning Schneider earlier, if they could nab him, they'll be all set.

Turco - old, not what they need
Biron - Meh
Roloson - bridge burnt?
Ellis - yes, true enough
Price - high cost, tough call
Halak - don't even ask the price
Mike Smith - yeah, maybe
Vokoun - has a NTC, 'nuff said Laugh1
Toskala...nah
Leclaire - one more year to see if he can regain his form as the undisputed number one? Might be a good risk if the rest of the options aren't feasible.

Unless the price for Leclaire is something low like a 4th I don't see why EDM does it. Even at that, the guys I named are all better (IMO) and worth a shot over Leclaire (Not that Murray would give Leclaire up for anything less than a 2nd methinks)

DIdn't see the 1st period but in the last 2 Elliott was very solid I thought and 2 goals still went in, so I would assume the team was playing crap all game.
Something I don't get with this team is, the first line was making too many passes, and the 2nd line wasn't making enough scratch
Fisher needs to be more patient with the puck, he's back to trying to dangle 3 guys on the blue line. 2nd line is so out of sync all of a sudden it's incredibly inexplicable.
I thought the D wasn't that bad, but they are also out of sync, no communication. Let's just hope it's because Lee, Sutton are fairly new to the system and Karlsson playing with different teammates.

Laugh1 Come on, you're killing Leclaire here. He's better than Biron, Toskala, Mike Smith has taken too many concussions - he's not in great shape. Leclaire has had nothing but horrendous luck here, if we were to plug him in nets tomorrow and not take him out for 10 games, I'm confident he would be stellar for us, but we can't do that with Elliott seemingly ready to carry the ball.

Price is a 3rd and probably some salary back (no more than 2 million!). That's a risk I would probably take if I were them.

What can I say, I hate Leclaire. I would probably take all of those guys (minus Toskola I guess) over Pascal. And I dont think Murray would trade him for a 3rd, that would make the Vermy trade look very bad and would make Murray wipe the egg off his face.

I think he won the Columbus trade no matter what, the blue chip prospect goaltender was something the Sens never boasted and now that 2nd rounder that came with Vermette will always come with a *acquired from Columbus asterisk. And Verm wasn't really getting the chance here.

I think he'd take a 3rd and a player, a LW to make SSF happy. Laugh1

I would be thrilled if we were to acquire Schneider.

Not to brag or anything...well yeah it is to brag. I was the one person who voted Carolina win by 2.

I certainly didn't expect a Leclaire collapse but that's no excuse. The Sens can't win by only scoring 1 goal on too many nights.
