Hook his a$$ if you dont think he deserves it and he stops 2 of 5. Leclaire probably wasnt ready from any aspect there and it goes beyond bad defense (and it was bad) and confidence.

Elliott is the guy here and it's about time they just say it because it will drag on like it always does in Ottawa.

That's quite true, I recall Clouston saying that. The next time Elliott comes out of the net will be for a one game rest, then for Robin Lehner in 3 years.

One thing I gotta say is Elliott is handling this situation brilliantly like he has in previous seasons here. He has taken his opportunities when given and he just keeps on rolling even when they bring in guys that are expected to carry the mail.

No sulking, no whining nothing. He just sits back and waits for his chance and takes advantage every time. How long before the Sens just hand him the job and not bother with bringing in replacement number 1 goalies?

I wouldnt even bet against Lehner getting the back up role in Ottawa next year if they decide not to go with Leclaire or Brodure, unlikely but wierder things have happened. Probably not good for his development if he isnt in the net 30 games or more.

Sounds like Leclaire and Clouston had a heart to heart from his interview on hockey central. Both on the same page and both understand how the other felt/feels/wants.

Yeah, but you've always preached the developmental side for goalies, I doubt that's a great idea. Bingo needs help though, and that's the chance for him to see plenty of action and 60+ games.

Yeah, I just heard the same. One thing's for sure, Leclaire's a good teammate, he's not a Ray Emery.

Let's take it step by step. He makes Bingo, gets the call up in case of injuries. Then we'll see about back up.

Probably not a good idea and I think he should be in The AHL and play a ton of game, that being said if he wins a spot in Ottawa, someone gets hurt, so on, it could happen.

The smart move would be going out and getting a backup like Biron, Roloson for a year if they move Leclaire. Who knows though, the only thing that is pretty certain at this point is that Elliott is the number 1 in Ottawa and rightfully so. The kid wins games, he will get ripped by the usual suspects but when it comes down to it, the best team results are when he is in the nets, NCAA, AHL, and the NHL.

That's good because Clouston looked disgusted when he pulled Leclaire. Better to clear the air than leave that image in Leclaire's mind.
