Interesting Citizen article about Lee: http://www.ottawacitizen.com/sports/Time+keep+switch/2615872/story.html

The interesting part was this comment:

And if Lee couldn't make the team this year, how would he ever make it
next season, especially with two more young defencemen, Patrick
Wiercioch and Jared Cowen, both drafted by Murray, expected to arrive?

Well, they *are* expected to arrive at camp in September. But that's about it. I think there was more expectation of Karlsson sticking around this year than even Cowen next year. And Karlsson didn't exactly distinguish himself early on.

While I'm certainly hoping that Cowen makes it, and I think he will, I have serious reservations now about Wiercioch making the roster right out of camp this September.

I hope the Olympics doesn't kill the momentum we had going into the break. Ottawa Senators TIDBITS & QUICK HITS! - Page 4 432129

Just 19 games left. This is the stretch run. I'm sure Cory will keep them going in the right direction.

hopefully Alfie will come back from the olympics all pi**ed off from not getting a medal, same with Volchie, which they can turn that intensity into pushing for the cup, maybe just wishful thinking, but would be nice.

Hopefully A Train comes back with the realization he isnt ever, erything some people make him out to be and is a totally replaceable cog on that blueline.

In all seriousness, I would rather sign Hamius then try and sign A Train, Hamius is a better play, period.

well 12 points from 8th place with 3 more games played then the 7th 6th and 5th spot so it looks good, we would have to go on a 5 game loosing streak to get into trouble

14 points in the remaining 19 games will give us 90 points. It's very possible that a 90-point team will get in this year. A record of 6-11-2 will give us 14 points. If we go 5-2 in the remaining home games all we need is one win and two OT/SO losses or 2 wins on the road. Our first two games on the road will be Carolina and Edmonton. With Karlsson back in the lineup. Our record int he last 12 road games is 7-5

I don't want to take anyone lightly, and a top-4 Conference seeding will surely help in the first round, but it seems to me that the team would have to literally implode to miss the playoffs.

to be honest i did really expect anything from us this season and that if we made the playoffs it would be a quick exit, i still dont think we will go deep maybe 2nd round + ?

Just my opinion, but for NHL action, he's not ready.
Bingo at least a year.

Might be trying to burn a year of his ECL.
