agreed, sheesh, was hoping for a 3rd or lower, stop the overpayment.

I don't know about you guys, but a 2nd round pick for a 35 year old UFA sounds like overpaying to me.

We gave up both 2nd round picks, jeebus. (Carolina nabbed the other one for Cullen). Are we really that much better?

It's SJ's 2nd rounder which will end up being in the last 5 picks of the round. Basically a 3rd rounder anyway. I'm guessing that based on current scouting Murray doesn't have anyone on his radar for the 2nd round. It's not like him to trade all his picks for a round unless he's not interested in anything in the 30-60 range of prospects.

He's a UFA but one that we could resign for somewhere between 3-3.3. At that he could make up a lot for losing Volchie if we do.
