Question to Robin Lehner
What was it like facing NHL shooters in regular season action?

Question to Robin Lehner:

Do you think these short stints in net has accelerated your timetable to reach the NHL?

Some questions I'm going to pose:

Who do you room with in Binghamton?

When you are in Ottawa, who do you room with?

It's somewhat customary for young, first time pros to come into a situation in the AHL where they're not familiar with the system or the D. If you were to be shelled for the first half of the season, would a young, talented goalie like yourself be prone to second-guessing because you're so competitive, or do you realize it's all part of the process?

Wow, quite the question

Now that you have been around the team a bit more (training camp + call up), who on the senators have you become close friends with? i.e. hang out with outside of practice and games.

Growing up in Sweden, did you get a chance to watch NHL hockey? Sometimes European players get criticized for not having the same drive to win the Stanley Cup as a player who grew up in North American and was immersed in the culture at a young age. What would winning the Stanley Cup mean to you?

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

From Cruizer3000.

Good or bad? Laugh1 In an odd way, I'm trying to prepare Lehner for what could easily happen to him - although, I'm sure he knows already.

Well, I don't know if that's a fair question to ask a 19 year old kid. It's hypothetical (plus, I'm not sure what you mean by shelled; do you mean shelved (as in not playing), do you mean take lots of shots and let lots in?). If you mean "if you were to not play much during the 1st half of the season", the question might be clearer if you asked how much ice time he "expects" or how much ice time he feels he needs to get "into a groove" or how things are different for him when he's not playing. It's just my opinion;

He'll know what's meant here. There's a chance that no matter what he does, he'll be scored on over and over and over again - just as a matter of being a noobie in the pros. I'd like to hear what he has to say about that. Surely no goalie goes in prepared for that, but if the situation arises, what will his reaction be?

Q: have the senators brass or players given you a heads up on the type of media present in town? Specifically, have you heard to not pay attention to what the Sun writers write as their mission is mostly controversial and racy topics? Have they given you advice on how to deal with troublesome reporters?

See topics in goaltending (leclaire and elliot bashing), heatley, spezza, kovalev, Clouston, etc.

Robin, you recently started using a mask that has a strong resemblance to Henrik Lundqvist's mask. Is he someone you really hope to model yourself around?

Is it safe to say that Robin Lehner is going to be the next Henrik Lundqvist?

Bieng in a Canadian market, the goaltenders get much more heat from the press and the fans. What will you do to handle the pressure if there are any struggles to your game?

Being on a team with a Captain like Alfredsson, what is your first though of a player like Daniel?

Are you ready for the Battle of Ontario?

Have you been able to find any Surströmming here in Canada? Also, do you enjoy some snus every now and then?

What is your personal timeline for becoming a Number 1 goalie in the NHL?

If the opposition is repeatedly crashing the crease, what should the goalie do?

A. Complain to the officials.
B. Take matters into his own hands and give the next "gate-crasher" a poke-check to the junk.
D. Give his own defenseman a kick in the pants for not doing his job.
