When the Sens get healthy - who sits?

I'm moving this to a thread of its own because it's gonna be hard to figure out:

So we send down Z.Smith, M.Brodeur (there's nothing we can do with either guy).

I don't see where Cheechoo will fit on this team when Winchester comes back, I really don't.

Your thoughts?

It'll be tough to send Z. Smith down but he shoulda thought of that in training camp. There's just no room for him once we're healthy.

I would personally like to see these lines.

Michalek - Fisher - Alfredsson - Fisher - Alfie pair stays together

Regin - Spezza - Kovalev - Regin-Kovie pair stays intact.

Foligno - Shannon - Neil - Foligno hasn't earned top six like Regin has.

Ruutu - Kelly - Winchester - Ruutu Kelly stay paired together.

No Donovan? Fair enough.

Is Winchester even healthy or close to being healthy to play yet?

Oh, I see you've failed to put Cheechoo in there too. Press box? I don't think they're going to do that personally. So much money.

Seriously though my lines were what I'd like to see more than what I expect to see.

It's a very tought scenario but the one we've wanted since day 1. We haven't stayed healthy enough this year to really see how many extra players we have and depth we have. It's going to be interesting to see how Clouston works this. I will say this though, I have a hard time putting Kelly and Ruutu on line 4 after the way they've played since the big boys went down. Especially Kelly. I also don't think Foligno deserves to be on line 2. That spot should be reserved for Regin if anyone, or even Neil. But, I also love the idea of Regin being our 3rd line center, talk about nice down the middle for us.

I want Regin there instead of Foligno as well, but this kid is excelling at the center position, so it's next to impossible.

I think at some point, the following guys will be gone, some sooner than others, some probably not this season.

Kelly, Cheechoo, Donovan. (possibly Ruutu and Shannon).

Kelly is too expensive for a 3rd/4th line centre, whose primary role is PK. Cheechoo is too expensive for a 3rd/4th line checker, would either have to be dealt with a pick or prospect to a team willing to take a salary dump, bought out, or waived and "buried" in the minors. Donovan may retire after the year, who knows.

Ruutu is pretty effective, just not sure if he will have a spot next season, same with Shannon.

Winchester and Regin will probably still have spots. Smith has earned a spot next season likely the way he has come in and played very well in all scenarios. That's 3 natural centreman on top of Fisher and Spezza (will not be traded).

If possible, I would trade Kelly, move Smith to center the fourth, and slide Cheechoo in (only because we have to).
