Alfie has been like that for some time now. I think its either that the lack of practice and the lack of PK time is making it tough for him to get as involved as he's used to being, or he's hurt enough to lose some of that concentration that usually makes him so effective. It's probably a little of both.

TBH, It's about time we win some games without Alfie being a star.
It's good going forward.

One guy who isn't getting nearly enough credit this season is Ruutu. The guy is having one heck of a year. He's easily one of our most effective and consistent players. He's on pace for his best statistical season (2 years in a row) and he makes some of the best decisions of any player on the team---A few boneheaded, pesty moves here and there, but otherwise, he's been oustanding.

...really liked his game tonight.

Ruutu is pretty smart yeah, and his reflexes are pretty good.

Just finished watching the game. Really strong team game tonight. Elliot didn't look good on either goal but played very well in the third while the team was great through 2 and kindu took a step back in the third. Still, I thought they kept calm in our own zone, finally no big brain cramps and guys running around like chickens with no head. Not sure what was going on with Alfie tonight. I also loved Spezza's game tonight. Ya, he had a few bad giveaways but I was seeing flashes of the old Spezza. Seems like he's getting his confidence back.

2 points back on Boston...meanwhile, the Sabres keep winning. Huge game coming up on Monday night. Let's hope Spezz and Kovalev keep it going in the right direction!

Yeah, Leafs are riding some serious momentum and new found confidance... Monday night will be a tough game.

I just wanna add that I think the Spezza, Kovalev, Foligno line was at their best last night and a big part of that is thanks to Foligno. That healthy scratch did him a world of good. He's finally back to playing that power forward role.

I never imagined this kind of production out of Stajan. I had him pegged as a career 3rd/4th liner. Kind of reminds me of Todd White.

I might watch this now, but we were at a Christmas Party last night and I'm not sure how much I can watch. Coffee!

Yikes....but that was to be expected. Its carolina, and we ddin't even sell out against the habs this week despite being a very good home team. Still, to not even crack 17K is GAME DAY: Carolina Hurricanes @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm ET - Sat. Dec. 12th, 2009 - Page 8 489887

The Canes had no right scoring right after the PP we had in the 2nd. They were getting purely dominated, got a lucky bounce and scored. Wow. And then they almost potted another one if not for the Elliott save on Whitney (again).

Diddle though, all 4 lines rolling really, really well. Nice pressure from the Sens. Can`t really single anyone out. Kovalev, Fisher, Foligno, Karlsson, Kuba all look engaged so far though, it`s nice.

Wait for Karlsson's pass on the PP to Kovalev. GAME DAY: Carolina Hurricanes @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm ET - Sat. Dec. 12th, 2009 - Page 8 557710

Tickets were heavily discounted as well last night. More than anything, too many home games early in the year have hurt Eugene's bottom line. I think he will be able to write his own schedule next year.

We just need to make the playoffs, attendance will just follow.
