Big loss and right before the Gold Medal game too... very sad.

McKenzie's saying he won't be surprised if McMillan goes back on "D" as he's thinking they are not too confidant about putting Cowen or de Haan in any more than they have already.

Anyone watching the US/SWE? Swedes are too fast it's amazing.
I don't regret Karlsson over Eberle at all, but I wouldn't have complained about Paajarvi over Cowen.

Sweden just lost their captain for the rest of a game for laying a head shot on a US player. Possible suspension coming.

That was a great hockey game nonetheless. I think both teams can beat Canada.

For sure the US have a shot, but I'll still bet on Canada winning Gold. Nice, solid blend of skill, grit and depth.

The Globe and Mail reports there's something between Kadri and Nino that could overshadow the Gold Medal game:

Forward Nazem Kadri, one of the few practising Muslims in the upper reaches of international hockey, refused to shake hands with Swiss forward Nino Niederreiter after the game.

“He said something that I really didn’t enjoy hearing,” said Kadri, the Toronto Maple Leafs’ first-round draft pick last spring, who refused to elaborate.

EDIT: Forgot this Facepalm because it seems everywhere I go, Kadri is in the news for something that would be considered not appropriate. Throat-slitting gesture, questionable hits. This kid is becoming the punk of all punks.

Keep in mind, though, that Canada has beaten both teams already this year...

Cowen and De Haan have to improve exponentially or TC has to go with 4 D if they want to have a chance at beating the Americans. Also, they have to find a way to make that 2-3 set on the PP work.

Canada hasn't had to worry about positioning all that much yet (and it showed against the Americans) but if that doesn't improve, they'll be sporting a silver on the plane ride home.

The Sens already have enough players with WJC silvers...if the AP and JS can't bring home gold, then I Cowen does...

Why does the Sens prospect update have Lehner as "currently participating at 2010 WJC"?

I thought he got cut?
