It all comes down to how much they're jonesin' to make the announcement that they've signed their core long term (Toews, Kane and Keith). Will Stan Bowman's ego get the better of him and cause him to make a move now so they can make the announcement now? Or will they wait? Is Bowman worried that if they sit on this too long that those guys will want more money...? These are the questions that DTR needs to find the answers to with his connections. His DEEP PENETRATING connections...SpezDispenser wrote:Yeah, the Hawks shouldn't let go of Barker until they absolutely need to. Sopel on the other hand...
I agree with you that Bowman is no hurry, why would he be, he doesn't need the cap space until next year. The marketing/business side of the organization is another matter entirely. Nothing makes headlines better than resigning 3 young stars at a glitzy press conference. Mr. McDonough really loves to make splashes (ie. HOSSA press conference) and he may be in a hurry.davetherave wrote:SpezDispenser wrote:I hope so.
Honestly...doubt this one happens.
Anyway, it's been fun to kick around.
I think Bryan Murray is going to stick with the team he has, and rely on Clouston to get the max out of these guys.
Like I explained before, from Chicago's side, Bowman's not in any hurry to make changes.
The Hawks are near the top of the league.
Hossa's coming back, he's going to evaluate the team, and then assess what the options are.
He also doesn't need to clear cap space until next June, despite what Bob McKenzie keeps saying.
All this 'cap yapping' from TSN is getting old. And boring.
GMH, on the other hand, is NEVER boring.
Thanks and have a great evening, y'all.

PLus, their values will be at max after a stanley cup ( ?)
