Loosing Michalek and Erhoff has to hurt that team. How can it not? What have they replaced those two with?

Having Cheechoo there as a hard workign guy and one of the only players who shows up during the playoffs will hurt too. Tons of character was traded away for what? Maybe 50 regular season goals?

San Jose is on the decline it a big way.

Michalek is a heart-breaker for them. They are soooooooooooooo lucky they didn't get desperate and let Clowe and Michalek go, they'd be dead in the water right now. Ehrhoff is a weak little dude from a lot of people I've talked to. Put the pressure on him and watch him wilt - like Heatley. Smile

Cap'n Clutch wrote:Definitely a nice problem to have. Also, if the "3rd line" is clicking then they'll get more minutes and probably some PP time so I'm not too concerned personally.
Yeah, I think we have to stop thinking of it as a 3rd line and continue with th 2A/2B analogy. The shifts and minutes will tell the story.

Although I respect your opinion Clover, I think you're wrong in this respect. Cheechoo may or may not rebound, but Michalek and the 2nd more than make up for it.

Signed,

Neely.

OK, I demand to know which planet did you come from and what have you done with N4L???!

Forwards:
=========
Michalek - Spezza - Alfie
Fisher - Regin - Kovalev
Foligno - Shannon - Cheechoo
Ruutu - Kelly - Neil
Donovan

Defense:
========
Phillips - Volchie
Kuba - Karlsson
Campoli - Picard
Carkner

Goal:
=====
Leclaire
Elliott

Injured: Winchester

Total: 23-man roster

GO SENS GO!!!

definitely a lot of potential with this line up, can't wait to see how they do come Saturday in MSG, that's a long layoff between games, hope they don't get rusty.

Rangers play the night before as well so we should be getting a tired Rangers team with a nice fresh group for The Sens. No reason to lose that game or basically any of the first 15 except one or two.

I got the impression that Cpt. Picard would be the 7th and Carkner was gonna take the 6th spot. I'd personally love to see Cark paired with Campoli.

well that is the perfect time to invoke the "Talk is Cheap" fan's slogan, we can talk about the Sens beating the Rangers, but the players got to show up, listen to Clouston, and execute,execute, & execute.

I suspect Carkner will be inserted into the lineup when we play Boston, Philly, Toronto and Anaheim for sure and against a soft team like the Rangers why wouldn't you put Picard out there right?

That's the way Senschirp has it laid out. He adds that Murray is trying to move Picard.

That's what will probably happen. RH shot with a LH shot on top of Carkner allowing Campoli to play a little bigger then he is. Should be a solid pairing if Carkner plays that simple game. Better then a Campoli/Picard pairing for sure.

Really want to see Carkner play well and stick, it would just be another asset in the organization. Hopefully he can learn how to work the PK with that big body and contribute beyond the number 6 role. He has the size and toughness to really help out that PK.

No one wants him though, that's a pretty big sticking point.

Because Picard cant play his off side. Picard is the 7th D man in Ottawa, not Carkner.

Carkner will be used on the PK I assume and paired with Campoli. Being a RH shot will keep him in the lineup and probably improve Campoli's game playing that stay at home style. Picard, not so much.

Meh, we'll see what happens when teams get off to a slow start and are lacking a threat from the point. Teams just dont give up young assets or draft picks anymore.

According to Mendes Picard will be a healthy scratch on Saturday against the Rangers and Carkner will be paired with Campoli. Myself, i'm pretty happy and looking forward to how they perform together. Carkner's a pretty big dude and is punishing. Love the extra grit and sand paper!
