I can guarantee Lehner time for the next game. Nothing to lose anymore. Defence will be atrocious with so many injuries....mvp in corey locke is missing. Too many new players coming in, AND its the sens so they're bound to choke away a golden opportunity to hand all the momentum to the opposing team (see game 3 choke), so can't say I'm surprised

Brust is the guy everyone is so high on, right? He's the guy people think should be backing up in Ottawa next year? He was signed to a ECHL/AHL contract for a reason. He's not a very good goaltender.

How long have you been waiting to say that? One bad game......anyway, I'm not going to debate it.

Luongo gave up a poopload of goals last night, I guess he belongs in the ECHL too.

It's more than one bad game. They had a 3-0 lead that was blown as well. I'mnot saying he's good or he's bad. He's had a fantastic season but perhaps is not ready (or equipped) to play that number of games. If he gets a try out with the Sens and does well-enough in camp, would he not be able to start 10-15 games for us? If not, there are plenty of backups available. The biggest reason for moving Brust (whether it's to Ottawa or simply out of Bingo) is to give Lehner room.

Brust hasn't been good the entire playoffs, that's the point. He wasn't all that great down the stretch either. Lehner was the one stealing the games before he tweeked his back but that's not the point.

Comparing Luongo and Brust? Really? I still have my doubts Luongo but he's a 100% legit NHL starter. Brust had to sign an ECHL/AHL contract to get a starting gig in professional hockey, huge difference. He is an average AHL, 28 year old journey man who shouldn't be taking time from a prospect that Ottawa believes will be the starter for a long, long time going forward.

If it wasn't for the love affair Bingo fans had with Brust, Lehner would have got the start last night and probably a lot more starts throughout the season. Brust is showing why indeed he got that ECHL contract.

An NHL backup is about 100 times better than an ECHL/AHL goaltender. It's not like he's a rookie coming up and looking to steal a spot.

HA HA!

Maybe we'll see Lehner next game... but I doubt it. Playoffs... even after a bad game, teams usually go back with their starter. Luongo will start for the Canucks next game.

Hopefully Bingo can get back on track.

GO BSENS GO!!!

Could not possibly agree more. I get the sense that Brust is crashing down to earth and it's almost a foregone conclusion that Lehner play his way to the starting job next season in Bingo.

Brust's numbers have been consistently good since 07/08, and he earned his playing time.

Let's see if he gets a shot, and if he does, if he runs with it. I'm not saying give him the spot right away but I'm not going to scream if he gets a tryout. I just don't want him in Bingo next year. On the other hand, I *do* want someone in Bingo pushing Lehner. Any goalies you would grab in the middle rounds (3-4) that could come in and backup Lehner and push him? Lars Volden, maybe?

I agree he's earned his playing time but at what point do you say "he isn't as good as his numbers this year"? Pretty close to that time now because for the last 2 months he has been very average.

I don't think he is an NHL type goaltender, backup or other wise and I have always thought that. I think right now you are seeing exactly why I believe that. I said similar things when he was ridding high.

The organizations job is to develop Lehner, him sitting on the bench in Bingo does no one any good. Sure, he needs to be pushed a little but it should be by someone but he and everyone else needs to be reasonably assured that he is the starter down there.

It's not like being a starter in The NHL where there is no where to go but down. Being a starter in The AHL is the start of things and anyone who is o.k with being just that won't make it to the next level.

I have no idea if he could be an NHL goalie or not, but his numbers have been consistently good. Better than a lot of goalies that have been given a legit NHL opportunity.

Joy Lindsay reporting: Sens goalie coach Rick Wamsley working with Robin Lehner alone in one end, getting him ready to face some shots.

Maybe we will see Lehner get the start tonight...
