Now is it Lehner time?

How long have you been waiting to say that? One bad game......anyway, I'm not going to debate it.
Luongo gave up a poopload of goals last night, I guess he belongs in the ECHL too.
wprager wrote:It's more than one bad game. They had a 3-0 lead that was blown as well. I'mnot saying he's good or he's bad. He's had a fantastic season but perhaps is not ready (or equipped) to play that number of games. If he gets a try out with the Sens and does well-enough in camp, would he not be able to start 10-15 games for us? If not, there are plenty of backups available. The biggest reason for moving Brust (whether it's to Ottawa or simply out of Bingo) is to give Lehner room.

Brust hasn't been good the entire playoffs, that's the point. He wasn't all that great down the stretch either. Lehner was the one stealing the games before he tweeked his back but that's not the point.
Comparing Luongo and Brust? Really? I still have my doubts Luongo but he's a 100% legit NHL starter. Brust had to sign an ECHL/AHL contract to get a starting gig in professional hockey, huge difference. He is an average AHL, 28 year old journey man who shouldn't be taking time from a prospect that Ottawa believes will be the starter for a long, long time going forward.
If it wasn't for the love affair Bingo fans had with Brust, Lehner would have got the start last night and probably a lot more starts throughout the season. Brust is showing why indeed he got that ECHL contract.

I just don't want him in Bingo next year. On the other hand, I *do* want someone in Bingo pushing Lehner. Any goalies you would grab in the middle rounds (3-4) that could come in and backup Lehner and push him? Lars Volden, maybe?

I agree he's earned his playing time but at what point do you say "he isn't as good as his numbers this year"? Pretty close to that time now because for the last 2 months he has been very average.
I don't think he is an NHL type goaltender, backup or other wise and I have always thought that. I think right now you are seeing exactly why I believe that. I said similar things when he was ridding high.
