I wanna say 3 now I think. Worchester must have lost last night.

The standings say both teams have played 76 games. The season's 80, right?

Yes they play 80 games per season in the AHL...

Bingo can clinch a playoff spot tonight -- they need a combination of 3 points gained by them and lost by Worcester -- i.e. any win by the B-Sens and anyloss by Worcester, or an OT/SO loss by the B-Sens and a regulation loss by Worcester.

If the playoffs started tonight Bingo would play the Manchester Monarchs.

B-Sens up 1-0 on a goal by Coulombe. Worcester is still scoreless.

Benoit and Wiercioch were re-assigned to Bingo -- are they playing this afternoon?

Edit: Yes they are. They've got 3 shots between the two of them (and they've helped to keep the opposition off the scoresheet through two periods).

Cody Bass scores to make it 2-0 Bingo, early in the third.

Interesting that the Sens have not brought Cody Bass up to play any games. It would appear that the current management feel he is a career AHLer.

It's now 2-1, under a half period to go.

Game going to OT. Magic number reduced to 2. Let's see if we can pull it down to 1.

OT over, on to the SO. Worcester still up, but Providence has scored to make it 2-1.

aaand bingo loses in the shootout. Something about any team named the senators not being able to hold multi-goal leads in very important games

Considering they still don't have Butler, Condra, Hale, Z Smith in their lineup -- that is important to their team.

Worchester plays their division leader once + Charlotte twice (who is also ahead of them in the standings.

Bingo plays Norfolk (who is tied with Bingo right now) Rochester & Andirondack who are at the bottom of their division. I certainly hope they can get at least 1 win out of these 3 games.
Sens have to send more players down for that Wed. and Fri games.

I can't believe they're even playing with the depleted roster - amazing that they could get a point.

Not sure how much Benoit and Wiercioch helped, but at least they kept the opposition to 2 regulation/OT goals. That was good enough for a single point. Not so the previous two games.

Don't worry, boys. All you need is a combination of two more points gained by you and/or lost by Worcester, and you're in. No need to try and chase 4th -- rather face the Monarchs than the Penguins. And once Ottawa has played their remaining 3 games you'll also get Butler, Condra, Greening, DaCosta, Lessard, Hale back; maybe even a few more like Smith, Svatos, Lee.

What Bingo is doing is pretty amazing. They just keep getting their players ripped from them and they still compete and find a way to get positive results. Rip off one more win and they are in and can relax a little.

Hopefully Bingo can really do some damage in the playoffs having their big guns back.

They won't get Da Costa. They had to give their roster for the playoffs before they signed Da Costa. Either way they're in ridiculously good shape once the playoffs start.
