They've definitely got some snipers, but I'd LOVE to see the Russians' shoot-out.

I don't envy the goalies there. :^^^^:

Or should at least consider covering his five-hole.

Whats Russia's forward group looking like again?

Kovalchuk-Malkin-Ovechkin
Semin-Kovalev-Datsyuk
...

I'd forgotten how big Dany is. He looks about Pronger's size from this viewpoint.

Lecavalier gets a penalty, but St. Louis gets a SH break-away. No goal, though.

With his pads on, yeah, but in the photo's of him arriving in Calgary, he looked like he'd dropped 20 pounds riding the crazy train all summer Ahhhhh!

He looked horrible in that picture. Tiny little arms. It was odd.

If you convert Malkin to wing, you could have all three Hart candidates on one line. :^^^^:

And they keep churning these guys out. In a few years, Kabanov could be another Kovalchuk.

If it's any consolation, though, the Russians are IMO quite a bit behind Canada, Sweden and the US in terms of producing defencemen. That looks like it may be their achilles heel.

I wouldn't be too pessimistic. Between Alfredsson potentially hitting 1000 regular season points, Foligno's progression, a Leclaire/Elliott tandem and potentially the start of Karlsson's NHL career, there's a lot to look forward to.

Caught the highlights this morning... the game looked like an all-star game - not too fast paced. Heh heh. Hopefully they can start to develop some chemistry and get in synch by the time the Olympics come around.

Heatley in the shootout? And he scores? WHAT? And they booed him just a bit... heh heh.

To anyone who watched the scrimmage ....

Did anyone notice an argument occurring at the very end when players were leaving the ice ?

It looked like Jonathan Toews and Eric Staal were exchanging some nasty words and Jordan Staal had to step in and move Toews aside.

Curious what was going on there.
