I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure people are confusing him with Giguere.

i wasnt sure but i thought i read some people saying that was why he wouldnt want a trade

another blog from hbuzz, Matthew Barry seems to be making a case for the Kings to get Heatley, think we can plant the bug in Barry's head that we want Brown and maybe he can convince Hextall & others?

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Matthew-Barry/Heatley-and-The-Kings---Part-Deux/125/22648

He makes a very convincing argument to me, but then again, I am jaded against Heatley. Laughing3

The rumour states that the Los Angeles Kings may be gearing up for a pitch at Dany Heatley and that their offer would include Frolov, Hickey and Moller and a conditional pick
.

Source doesn't seem valid (seems like wishful thinking) but there it is.

Considering Hextall's public statements on Heatley, I'd be very surprised.

edit: The source is from Toronto .... hmmm Facepalm

That offer seems way too good to be true.

EDIT: AND a pick?

The "source" (at least for Chirp) is this:
http://www.thedarkranger.com/

For what it's worth, the guy (DarkRanger) says he's going out on a limb and declaring the Kings the winner in the sweepstakes.

I have to agree with asq2, though, that it is way too much. However, if you add some more names, who knows.

For example, the Kings would be down to 10 forwards (three of whom are named Purcesll, Ivanans and Zeiler?). We could include Schubert (they are also a little short on D with significant NHL experience), Kelly and Picard. Or Smith.

There are ways to even this trade out, but the way it stands is way too one-sided.

Conditional. If Frolov doesn't re-sign then the deal is one-sided the other way.

By the way, that DarkRanger guy goes on to suggest that clearing the cap space give the Sens room to go for Sykora, and gives the following lineup to start the season:

Frolov Spezza Alfredsson
Foligno Fisher Kovalev
Sykora Kelly Neil
Ruutu Moller Shannon

OK, he just lost any credibility he may have had. I don't know much about Moller, but Shannon on the 4th? (Actually, come to think of it, Moller is not a grinder either, I don't think.) Neil on the 3rd? What *is* that 3rd line's goal? Certainly not a shutdown checking line with Neil on the wing. Not a hard checking line with Kelly or Sykora. Not a scoring threat with Kelly centering Neil. It's just a bunch of names thrown together.

Weird.

ouch, yeah that blows the validity out of the water doesn't it, figuratively speaking anyway? wouldn't we look silly if it turned out to be true?

We'd never go after Sykora, unless there was a spot top 6 for him. He's not that kind of player.

There's probably some truth to this. Murray really will have a hard time bringing Heatley back. The fans hate him, the players won't be too quick to say it's okay, Clouston and Heatley will never see eye to eye now.

I thought that if we gave Heatley the opportunity to show what he can do playing a bigger role, things might be good. But I sincerely doubt that now.

I agree with what you say there Spez, however, I just don't see a deal getting done, and this deal seems to be overly tipped in our favour, that is my opinion anyway. I would love for the deal to go down, but the fact that Hextall has said he doesn't want Heatley because of his character, I can't imagine him doing a 180 and all of a sudden changing his mind, the goal scoring ability aside.

It is bizarre. Especially since something like

Frolov - Spezza - Alfredsson
Sykora - Moller - Kovalev
Foligno - Fisher - Shannon
Ruutu - Kelly - Neil

Was staring him in the face.
