Oh it was 3.5? For a 20 goal guy? Who lives and breathes Lightning hockey? I don't understand.

Let's get him (for 1.5 million on a 1 year). Sarcasm

He's a LW too. A position we are about to be potentially extremely thin on very soon.

Yeah he had three more years @ a cap hit of $3.5M/year.

You can welcome Alex Tanguay to the TBay Lightning any day/hour/minute/second now!

I just don't understand this move. 19 goals and 45 points on the second worst team in the league, and they just can't wait to buy him out?

How the Diddle does this make sense? Are they swimming in scorers and point producers? Is that why?

Assuming we trade Heatley and find ourselves with some cap space for a LW, why wouldn't we sign this guy for like $2 million or less?
Word is they are close to signing Sykora, who will take over for Prospal

What the Diddle? I thought they'd actually figured out how to do that thing called "managing a team", but it looks like they were just on an extended vacation or something. Back to the crazy nonsense once a week lateral roster moves.

Although I'm not sure we can make room for Prospal (yet), this is head shake worthy.

Idiots. First, for giving him $14M; now for selling him 3 years for $3.5M. Right now he's got $7M coming over 6 years, so he can afford to take a short-term deal. Sign on for $1.5M (that's friggin' less than Chris Neil!!!) for 1 year with a decent team. Score 20-25 goals and 55-60 points, then get another $6M 2 year deal and retire at 37.

It's true, JJ at Buzz says the money's going straight to another player.

His last 3 years of stats:

2008 - 19 G, 26 A, 45 PTS
2007 - 33 G, 38 A, 71 PTS
2006 - 29G, 28 A, 57 PTS

Guy has averaged 27 goals and 58 points over the last three seasons.
Why not take a chance on this guy, on a short term, small money contract, to play on our second line or even the top line?

No room right now? Otherwise I'd be all over if. Always like Prospal.

If that rumoured three-way went through, coupled with the signing of a Prospal, we'd instantly become the deepest offensive team in the league I'd say.

Prospal - Spezza - Michalek
Alfredsson - Plekanec - Kovalev
Foligno - Fisher - Shannon
Ruutu - Kelly - Neil

Extras: Donovan, Winchester, Bass

Prospal was the only Sen back when Yashin held out for a whole season who didn't say it was just business, nothing personal, they're a better team with him, and they'd welcome him back to the dressing room. He came out (much like Neiler did about Heatley) and said what he felt. Frankly, they should have given him the 'A' for that; instead he was traded.

I've always had a soft place in my heart for Vinnie since the.

Are you talking about TBay?
OR
These guys that want Prospal on the Sens?

I personally think it should be both!!!

Yeah a guy at a big time discount who has averaged 27 goals and 58 points over the last 3 seasons to fill in a position for us where we could be potentially very, very weak after the Heatley trade. We must be crazies...

No offense, but having your best two right wingers on the second line and Prospal and Michalek on the first in their stead is pretty nutty. Not to mention putting The Alfie on LW...

Bass stays in Bingo, so does Regin. Extras Winchester and Donovan.

Seriously???
Look at your proposed line-up.
Plus, I didn't know that Prospal accepted your "big time discount". He has shown before that he doesn't care about money.
My bad, sorry.
Seriously, unreal.
